2026 World Series Futures Odds: Dodgers Still Solid Favorite to Threepeat
World Series odds for 2026 are picking up a little more steam, now that the calendar has cleared the All-Star break. And the favorite is no surprise whatsoever.
The two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers remain atop 2026 World Series futures odds. And over the past month, the New York Yankees haven't closed the gap as the No. 2 choice.

Dodgers Dynasty?
LATEST UPDATE: The Los Angeles Dodgers entered the 2026 season as a strong favorite in BetMGM's World Series odds. Los Angeles opened at +350 after beating the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games to earn their second straight championship.
On Opening day, Dodger Blue was even stronger chalk in odds to win the 2026 World Series, at +225. And on June 5, the Dodgers were into +190.
Now, on July 20 and with the All-Star Game in the rearview mirror, L.A. is at a tidy +180 while holding MLB's best record at 63-37.
The Dodgers are No. 1 in tickets at BetMGM, slightly ahead of the New York Yankees (55-44), who are now the +550 second choice. And L.A. is lapping the field in money, drawing 22% of dollars in BetMGM World Series futures odds, 2.5 times more than the Yanks, who are No. 2.
"The Dodgers are currently a relatively small loser for us. But I expect that number to keep growing as the season progresses," BetMGM trading manager Hal Egeland said. "It's probably safe to say we'll be rooting against the Dodgers come October.
"Even with several star players either injured or undereperforming, they still own the best record at the All-Star break. They feel somewhat inevitable right now. But there are still a handful of strong contenders that BetMGM would be happy to see standing in their way."
Meanwhile, the Yankees have weathered the storm while being without slugger Aaron Judge since May 31. Judge is recovering from a stress fracture in his ribs.
"We've taken a healthy amount of action on the Bronx Bombers," Egeland said. "But they remain a solid outcome for BetMGM. Despite ranking second in both handle and total bets, they're still one of our preferred results among teams with a legitimate chance to win the World Series."
The Pinstripes could be even more legit once Judge returns, but that might not be until late August/early September.
"I'm honestly surprised the Yankees have remained this strong without Judge," Egeland said. "If you had told me before the season that they'd be this successful while Judge missed significant time, I wouldn't have believed it.
"But players like Ben Rice have stepped up in a major way, and this roster has proven it's more than a one-man show."
Tickets and Money
There's a jogjam among the next four teams in BetMGM's 2026 World Series odds, with the Milwaukee Brewers +1000, the Atlanta Braves at +1100, and the Philadelphia Phillies and Seattle Mariners +1300.
The Brewers have made significant movement over the past seven weeks. In late May, Milwaukee was +2500. But they've escalated to the third choice by posting the second-best mark in the majors so far, at 62-37.
That includes a 13-4 run from June 21-July 9. Then the Brew Crew had a little hiccup entering the All-Star break, losing three in a row.
Atlanta (57-41) moved backwards a couple notches over the past six weeks, from +900 to +1100. Philadelphia (55-45) made a notable jump, from +2000 to +1300.
"The Phillies and Brewers have been the real stories in the futures market over the last few weeks," Egeland said. "Since [mid-June], they've ranked second and third in both handle and bets, trailing only the Dodgers.
"It feels like every time I've provided futures updates over the last couple of years, I've brought up the Brewers as a team bettors were undervaluing. It looks like our customers are finally starting to come around."
BetMGM would love a Milwaukee title run at this point.
"From a liability perspective, the Phillies are currently a small winner for us, while the Brewers remain one of our stronger outcomes," Egeland said. "That said, recent action is moving both teams in the wrong direction for us, so we'll see where things stand when the postseason rolls around."
The Tampa Bay Rays have the best record in the AL, at 56-42. Yet Tampa is far less popular than the other top teams. The Rays are 16th in ticket count and 14th in money at BetMGM.

Defending AL champion Toronto (46-53) opened +1800 in 2026 World Series futures and is now almost three times that at +6000. Preseason, Detroit was the +2000 co-ninth choice, but is now out to +4500 with a 46-53 record.
As noted above, the Mariners are in the top five in tickets and money to win it all. And Seattle landed the two biggest futures wagers BetMGM has seen so far, though not on the World Series.
Rather, a customer put a massive $450,000 on the Mariners to have 90 or more wins, at -110. If Seattle gets there, then the bettor profits $409,090.91. Seattle also took a $300,000 bet at even money to win the AL West, for potential profit of $300,000.
However, entering the second half, the M's are a game under .500 (48-49) and trail the Texas Rangers by 1.5 games in the AL West.
Needs and Liabilities
Usually, short prices make it difficult for favorites to become noteworthy liabilities. But as noted above, so many bettors are riding the Dodgers' train that L.A. is indeed at least a minor trouble spot in 2026 World Series futures odds.
So big picture, where does BetMGM stand?
"Among teams with realistic championship aspirations, the Rangers, Brewers, and Yankees would all be excellent outcomes for BetMGM," Egeland said. "On the other side, we'd much rather avoid a Dodgers or Mariners World Series run."
Soon enough, the Boston Red Sox could be a liability, as well. After a blowout 10-2 loss vs. Washington on July 1, Boston was a dreadful 37-48 on the season. Since then, though, the Red Sox are 13-0, and they're 18-2 dating to June 25.
So all of a sudden, Boston is 50-48 and right now would make the AL playoffs, as the third and final Wild Card team. On July 6, the Red Sox were +10000 (100/1) in World Series championship odds. Now, they're all the way into the +2500 ninth choice at BetMGM.
Egeland also tossed out a potential dark horse, which interestingly is the defending AL champion.
"As for an under-the-radar team, I'd point to the Blue Jays," he said. "The first half certainly hasn't gone their way. But I still think there's more upside here than bettors give them credit for.
"It's a long season, and I wouldn't be shocked if bettors look back in a few months wishing they had grabbed a World Series ticket at +6000."

World Series Odds
The MLB World Series takes place in late October and is often referred to as the Fall Classic. World Series futures odds for each season are made shortly after the conclusion of the previous season, and sometimes even sooner.
Since the MLB regular season is the longest of the four major sports, bookmakers don’t make one team a decisive favorite over another prior to the season. You’ll usually see three to four teams have World Series Odds of +1000 or less.
The majority of the MLB teams will have future odds ranging from +1000 to +7000 or so. Then you start to get into longer shots, with some teams at +20000 (200/1) or more.
How Do I Bet On The World Series?
It’s very simple to bet on the World Series, since the MLB futures odds market is always open for business. To figure out your Win Amount, a bettor would take the betting odds offered on a team and multiply by the amount wagered.
For example: The Yankees are +700 (7/1) to win the World Series. A $100 wager would profit $700, for a total payout of $800.
