What’s Going On?

Sunday of NFL Week 1 has an NFC South matchup on the schedule, and it should be a good one. You can bet this one by joining FanDuel, and you're getting a deal too. It’s the New Orleans Saints that were 9-8 (9-8 ATS) last season heading to Atlanta and a matchup with the Falcons that are coming off of a 7-10 (6-10-1 ATS) year. If either of these teams is going to take home a divisional crown they have to go through the Buccaneers.

There are ten home underdogs in the first week of the new season and Atlanta is one of them getting 5 ½ while their money line is +190. The visitors are -235 with no points given and the total is 42 ½. Find a play for this one and bet it on Fanduel. When you open a new account, you get credited with $150 in free play once you bet $5 and you don’t even need a promo code.

Why Should You Care?

You only get so many divisional matchups in any given NFL week. These games allow you another level of handicapping data. They play each other twice a year so going back just a couple of seasons get your four games to look at and they also have a handful of games against common opponents. Wagering on games within the same division can sometimes be easier than games from different divisions or even conferences.

Are The New Saints Going To Be Able To Get Back To The Playoffs?

Last season the Saints dealt with the retirement of Drew Brees, and they missed the playoffs for the first time in 5 years. They went 4-2 within their division and 6-3 on the road. This year they’ll be making that push with a new head coach after Sean Payton left to hang around on Sundays in the Fox studios.

The previous four games between these two have all gone the Saints’ way. New Orleans won at home In 2020 giving a field goal 24-9 and in Atlanta 23-16 getting a couple. Last season it was 27-25 at the Saints when they were giving six and the only game in the last two seasons that they didn’t cover ATS. The final game of last season was a 30-20 win on the road laying 4 ½.

Can The Falcons Ever Recover From Blowing The Super Bowl?

Having one of the greatest collapses in modern sports history has to set your franchise back a bit. After blowing that 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI the Falcons came back to make the playoffs the next season but haven’t been to the playoffs since. Now that Tom Brady has joined this division it’s going to be even more difficult to grab one of those seven spots from the NFC. Last year the Falcons were 2-4 in the division and 2-6 at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

If Atlanta is going to compete in this division and for a playoff spot, they’ll have to clean up their defense. They finished the year 26th allowing 27 points a game that was after opening the season giving up 122 points in their first four games.

Join Fain Duel To Get $150 When You Bet $5 And No Promo Code Needed!

It can get stressful when you’re trying to enter a promo code and it’s not working. No worries with FanDuel because there’s no code required. Open your new account and you get $150 once you bet $5, that’s it. Why not bet on the Saints vs Falcons? The Saints finished last year allowing 23 or less in seven of their last eight home games going 6-2 ATS. Atlanta finished the season 0-5 ATS on the road scoring 20 or less in each one. Lay the points here and let’s hope that promoting their DC to HC will keep the Saints’ defense humming.
