NASCAR The Great American Getaway 400 Picks, Predictions, Odds

Following last week's crazy race in the rain in Chicago, the drivers on the NASCAR circuit make the trip to Pennsylvania for Sunday's The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway.

The "Tricky Triangle" as its known at Pocono Raceway, is a superspeedway that stretches 2.5 miles, which is the same length as Daytona International Speedway and 0.1 miles shorter than Talladega Superspeedway.

In last year's race at Pocono Raceway (known as the HighPoint.com 400), Denny Hamlin picked up redemption after he failed a post-race inspection and was disqualified in 2023 by winning the 2024 edition. It marked his third victory at Pocono in the last seven races at that track.

Alex Bowman is coming off a victory last week in the Chicago street race, as six different drivers have captured the checkered flag in the past six races since the beginning of June.

I bet this at +850, but I'm good with pre-qualifying to 7/1. He struggled here in 2022, and that was the year Toyota was struggling in general. Last year, Truex was the best car, and some bad strategy and a pit stop cost him winning the race. Truex ranks 3rd in speed on the 4 races with this tire code in 2024. Toyota has won 3 straight and 8 of the last 11 at Pocono.

Kyle Larson Top 5 Finish (-122)

Larson ranks 2nd in speed in the two Pocono races with the Next-Gen race. Last season, he was running in the top 3 and spun out. He got back to the front, and then an untimely caution cost him track position. He got back to the front and was racing for the lead on the last restart. He ranks 2nd in speed this season. He's won 2 of the 4 races with this tire code in 2024.

Kyle Busch Top 10 Finish (+100)

It's been a rough year for Busch, but he's going to one of his best tracks. He's finished top 10 in 8 of the last 10 races here and has 7 top-5 finishes in those races. He had speed last season and was caught up in some of the restart madness. With Busch -98 points under the cutline, I expect them to be on the race-winning strategy.
