We analyzed the data around all the city’s top hotels to find out which penthouses will cost the most, as well as which US states’ residents are most likely to be able to afford a stay in them. We also looked at some of America’s most famous hotels outside of the Vegas area to compare their prices.

US States That Can Likely Afford a Penthouse Stay
Salaries can vary based on where in America you live, so some states will give you less opportunity to spend on a luxury hotel stay. We compared the salaries for five common jobs across the US, and found which areas have the best average pay. Here are the five states with the best salaries, making them the most likely to be able to rent the best suites:
1. California
It’s no surprise that the home of the rich and famous would top our list of the most likely states to afford a week in a penthouse. With multiple huge hubs for business, California is a key player in numerous sectors of industry, making it a high-paying state for a range of jobs.
We found that lawyers in California typically make more than $35,000/year above the national average for their profession, and registered nurses in the state have an average pay of $137,690! When ranking each state out of 100, the Golden State earned a high score of 73.57, putting it well above the rest of our list.
2. New York
One of America’s other most important states for business is New York, which comes a close second to California with a score of 71.02 on our index.
The state has high salaries across the board, but with housing in NYC being notoriously difficult to come by, it’s real estate agents who reap the benefits in our rankings. Our data shows that the average salary in their field is $112,080/year when based in New York – that’s $25,000/year more than the second-best paying state for agents on our list!
3. Washington
Moving to the Pacific Northwest, Washington takes third place on our list of states most likely to bag a penthouse stay. With a final score of 56.98, it’s a considerable drop in wages, but still offers high salaries compared to the national average.
For example, a secondary school teacher In Washington earns an average of $94,780 annually – that’s the third highest of any state in the country. Meanwhile, their registered nurses earn the second highest salaries in the US, typically making $111,030 per year.
4. Connecticut
Connecticut is home to its own fair share of casinos, but if you’re looking for a penthouse getaway, its salaries are sure to help you earn your way to your dream Vegas stay. Real estate agents in the state get the second highest average salary in America ($84,810/year).
Meanwhile, lawyers in Connecticut can expect to make around $195,730 annually. With a total score of 54.44, it takes a comfortable fourth place on our list.
5. Massachusetts
Rounding out the top five states most likely to be able to afford a penthouse visit, Massachusetts earns a total score of 52.76 on our rankings of salaries. Even lower-paying jobs such as a receptionist role can pay roughly $41,570 annually in the state – that’s just $1,350 per year less than the same job in California.
It beats competition from New Jersey, Alaska, and Oregon to finish our rankings, and also ends up as the last state to score above 50 on our index.

1. Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas
One of the most famous hotels in America, the 5-star Four Seasons Hotel in Vegas has the most expensive penthouse in the city according to our data, with a week’s stay setting you back $7,290 – more than $1,000 per night!
2. ARIA Resort & Casino
The ARIA Resort & Casino hotel, with its curved 50-story design, is one of the Strip’s most eye-catching buildings. For a stay in its premier suite, you can expect to pay $5,484 for a week of luxury relaxation.
3. Bellagio Las Vegas
Inspired by the villages surrounding Lake Como in Italy, the Bellagio resort has been a staple of the Las Vegas Strip for over 25 years. The penthouse suites in its iconic hotel cost around $5,322 per week.
4. Mandalay Bay
On the Strip’s south end, the Mandalay Bay resort offers luxury breaks in more than 1,117 rooms across 43 stories. A week’s stay in the penthouse of its striking gold-tinged hotel – one of the Strip’s most expensive – can set you back $5,242.
5. Fontainebleau Las Vegas
Fontainebleau is a recognized name in luxury hotels across the United States. Their Las Vegas establishment rounds out our list of the Strip’s most expensive penthouses, with a week costing a total of $4,850.
Least expensive Vegas penthouses
Penthouses are always going to be an expensive choice, but what if you’re looking to save a bit of money on your luxury stay? Here are Vegas’ least expensive penthouse suites for a more reasonably priced trip:
1. Flamingo Las Vegas
Flamingo is a 3-star hotel and casino that has been serving the Strip since 1946. Out of its 3,460 rooms, the penthouse suite is the most luxurious choice, costing $1,651 for a week’s stay – more than four times more affordable than Vegas’ most expensive option.
2. Luxor Hotel & Casino
Famous for its Egyptian theme, complete with its own pyramid and Sphinx statue, the Luxor Hotel & Casino is one of Las Vegas’ most widely recognized resorts. With a penthouse costing $1,705 per week, you’d be paying just a few dollars more per day than at Flamingo’s top suites.
3. Horseshoe Las Vegas
The Horseshoe is known for its curved design, with 2,812 rooms available in its 26 stories. For a stay in its most luxurious room, you’d have to pay $2,148 per week, earning it a third-place finish on our list of Vegas’ cheapest penthouses.
4. Excalibur Hotel & Casino
The 3-star Excalibur Hotel & Casino on the Strip is known for its Arthurian theme, and when it opened in 1990, it was the biggest hotel in the world at the time. Out of its 3,981 rooms, the penthouse suite costs $2,295 for a week’s stay.
5. The Signature at MGM Grand
Finishing off our list of the cheapest penthouse stays on the Las Vegas Strip is The Signature at MGM Grand. Split into three distinct towers – each standing at 38 stories – a penthouse stay costs $2,361 for seven days.

1. Mohegan Sun (Connecticut)
With its Native American theme, the Mohegan Sun stands on the banks of the Thames River in Uncasville, CT. It houses the largest ballroom in the Northeast, and its 12,000 capacity arena is home to the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun. One week’s stay in its luxury penthouse suite costs $9,285 – making it even more costly than the top suites on the Vegas Strip!
2. Encore Boston Harbor (Massachusetts)
Located on the border with Boston, the Encore Boston Harbor luxury resort opened in 2019, costing $2.9 billion to build. The top room in its 671 room hotel costs a total of $7,265 per week, which is more than double the average stay in Vegas.
3. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa (Florida)
This 4-star resort near Hollywood, FL is known for its unusual hotel design, built to resemble a Gibson Les Paul electric guitar. Across its three hotel towers, it houses 1,275 rooms with a penthouse stay costing $6,354 for seven days.
4. Ocean Casino Resort (New Jersey)
Atlantic City is one of America’s premier gambling locations outside of Las Vegas, and the 5-star Ocean Casino Resort is considered one of its finest. A stay in its top suite on the Boardwalk will set you back $3,516 per week – making it cheaper than the typical Vegas penthouse.
5. WinStar World Casino (Oklahoma)
Finally, the WinStar World Casino in Oklahoma finishes our list of the most expensive penthouses outside of Vegas. This 3-star tribal hotel and casino in Thackerville, OK, is home to 1,395 rooms in its main Resort Tower. Staying in its penthouse for a week costs $3,216 in total.
