The Super Bowl is one of the most commercialized events of the year. Every sports analyst will go to the host city and produce their shows live from radio row. Bars, theaters, and schools will host Super Bowl watch parties for the masses to gather and watch the finale of the NFL season.

Advancement of technology has brought us many things, but none more important than… seeing Super Bowl commercials before they air. Many of these commercials have already been posted to Youtube, so let’s take a look at the best Super Bowl commercials of 2024!

#5- Paramount +

This commercial has something for everyone. Football fans get to see Tua Tagovailoa fail to throw the pickaxe to the top of the mountain. Cartoon fans get to see Hey Arnold’s football-shaped head get used as an actual football. Creed fans get to hear “Higher”, a song that took the Minnesota Vikings by storm.

#4- Anheuser-Busch

The Budweiser Clydesdales are a staple when it comes to Super Bowl commercials. Throw in a yellow lab and a feel-good story, and you have a feel-good masterpiece from the marketing company at Anheuser-Busch.

#3- Starry (feat. Ice Spice)

Ice Spice has taken the world by storm this past year. She has been featured in Dunkin’ Donuts commercials and was nominated for multiple Grammy’s this year. She now adds a Super Bowl commercial appearance to her accolades. The commercial is about Ice Spice “avoiding her ex”, which turns out to be a man in a green hoodie with white text that is blurred out. 

Starry is essentially a Sierra Mist rebrand by Pepsico., and the blurred-out white text closely resembles the Spr*te logo. This commercial is extremely clever and calls out the Coca-Cola company while being comically coy.

#2- Mountain Dew (Aubrey Plaza Having a Blast)

I am a bit biased here because I loved Parks and Rec. However, Aubrey’s deadpan style is perfect for this commercial. Kid’s party, winning, losing, no matter what she is doing she is “having a blast”, a Baja blast, of course.

#1- E*Trade Baby Commercial (Picklebabies)

The E*Trade baby commercials dominated ad space in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. They took a brief hiatus from the talking babies, only to return in 2018. The babies are back, this time playing pickleball and discussing their retirement portfolios. Talk about starting retirement early. Imagine the interest accruing on those accounts.

Honorable Mention
