ACC TOURNAMENT HISTORICAL TRENDS

-- The ACC tournament has not had a repeat champion since Duke pulled off a three-peat from 2009-2011.

-- A top-three seed has captured the title in 14 of the last 18 ACC tournaments since the league expanded in 2005. The only two times that a team seeded fourth or below pulled out the ACC title was Duke, as the Blue Devils won it as a #5 seed both in 2017 and 2011.

-- The last team to wear the ACC tournament crown that ended up winning the NCAA tournament was Duke in 2010 when the Blue Devils held off Butler in the title game.

-- However, nine of the previous 10 ACC champions failed to reach the Final Four, as North Carolina was the lone outlier in 2016 when the Tar Heels fell at the buzzer in the national championship to Villanova.

-- Five teams have never experienced winning an ACC tournament as those schools include - Boston College, Clemson, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Syracuse.
