UConn has been favored to win the NCAA Tournament for the past couple months. The Huskies (36-3 SU) won the Big East regular-season and conference tournament titles, then steamrolled through the first five rounds of the NCAA Tournament, going 5-0 SU and ATS.

Connecticut is a scorching 26-1 SU in its last 27 games (20-7 ATS) and is on a 12-0 SU/11-1 ATS run entering the championship game. The Huskies are healthy minus-money favorites on BetMGM's March Madness championship odds board, at -275.

Can UConn be stopped?

"It doesn’t look like it at the moment," BetMGM trader Seamus Magee said prior to the Final Four. "Purdue is the only team that stands in the Huskies' way.

"And even then, it’s going to be a tall task for the Boilermakers."

UConn is the most-bet team in terms of futures tickets and money at BetMGM. And on a game-to-game basis, the Huskies have been very friendly to postseason backers. Across the 2023 and 2024 NCAA Tourneys, UConn is 11-0 SU and ATS.

Purdue (34-4 SU) is looking to erase last year's NCAA Tournament memory. The Boilermakers earned a No. 1 seed in 2023, as well, but shockingly lost to No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson in the first round.

No doubt, BetMGM is rooting for Zach Edey and Co. to cut down the nets Monday night in Glendale, Ariz. Purdue is +220 to win the championship.

"UConn would [also] be a good result for bettors. BetMGM would be better off with Purdue winning it all," Magee said.
