2026 March Madness Odds: Lines, Spreads, Betting Trends for Sweet 16

March Madness odds for the Sweet 16 are in motion, with the first four games in the books. So it's on to Friday's second quartet of contests.

Arizona was the first No. 1 seed to advance. On Friday, fellow No. 1s Duke and Michigan also moved on as solid favorites in NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 odds.

LATEST UPDATE: Thirty minutes before tipoff, DraftKings Sportsbook has UConn -1.5 (-115). On Sunday, Michigan State opened -1.5 (+102), but the number quickly flipped to Huskies -1.5 (-105).

UConn got to -2.5 (-105) for a couple hours Monday, then spent the rest of the week at various iterations of -1.5.

Spread tickets and money are two-way, with 53% of bets on UConn/52% of cash on Michigan State. The moneyline is also two-way, at 54% of bets on Michigan State/53% of money on UConn.

DK's total is at 136.5, up from the 134.5 low earlier today, but down from the 138.5 opener. The Over is getting 81% of bets/66% of money.

THIRD UPDATE: BetMGM has UConn at -1.5 (-115), as of 2 p.m. ET Friday, about eight hours before tipoff. The Huskies opened -1.5 (-102) and made a couple trips to -2.5 at various juice, most recently -2.5 (-105) earlier this afternoon.

But BetMGM's concern rests with the moneyline at this point, currently UConn -130/Michigan State +110.

"UConn outright is shaping up to be a need. Our bettors out of Michigan have come out in support of the Spartans to win this game," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.

The total is at 136.5, matching the opener and up two points today alone from the 134.5 low point.

SECOND UPDATE: As of 1 p.m. ET Wednesday, UConn is a 1.5-point favorite in Borgata Sports' 2026 Sweet 16 odds. In fact, the number has been stable at Huskies -1.5.

"Early action has been extremely balanced on the side," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "One of the themes of this round is some of the outstanding coaching matchups, and this may be the best, with Tom Izzo going up against Danny Hurley."

Borgata's total is stable at 136.5, with Gable noting a little more money on the Under.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 3 Michigan State (27-7 SU/19-15 ATS) held off No. 6 seed Louisville 77-69 as a 5.5-point favorite Saturday. The Spartans are 2-0 SU and ATS in the NCAA Tourney, after losing their regular-season finale to Michigan and Big Ten Tourney opener to UCLA.

No. 2 seed UConn (31-5 SU/14-22 ATS) pulled away in the second half for a 73-57 victory over No. 7 UCLA. The Huskies cashed as 4.5-point favorites, their third spread-cover in the last five games. But UConn remains one of the worst spread-covering outfits in the nation.

LATEST UPDATE: As of 9 p.m. ET, BetMGM has Iowa State -3.5 (-105) in 2026 Sweet 16 odds, just below the -3.5 flat opener. The Cyclones spent the first half of the week at various iterations of -4.5, moving off that number on Wednesday night.

"We want Tennessee any way possible," BetMGM trading manager Tristan Davis said.

That mirrors what fellow BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said this morning.

"Iowa State -3.5 looks to be a popular play. So we'll need Rocky Top to cover. And a Tennessee outright win would kill a ton of parlays, too," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.

The total is at 139.5 (Under -115), after opening at 138.5 and twice peaking at 140.5, Thursday morning and Friday morning.

SECOND UPDATE: Iowa State hit Borgata Sports' March Madness Sweet 16 odds as a 3.5-point favorite. The Cyclones got bet up to -4.5, where the number remains at 1:30 p.m. ET Wednesday.

"All of the early money has been on Iowa State," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "We’ve needed Tennessee in its first- and second-round games, and will probably need Rick Barnes & Crew again here.

"The Cyclones are playing to their highest power rating of the season right now."

Borgata's total is steady at 138.5.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 2 seed Iowa State (29-7 SU/23-13 ATS) led Kentucky by just one at halftime Sunday, 31-30. But the second half was all Cyclones in an 82-63 blowout as a 5.5-point favorite.

Iowa State is 5-1 SU/6-0 ATS in its last six games. The only loss was to Arizona, 82-80 in the Big 12 semifinals, and all five wins were blowouts of 19 points or more.

No. 6 Tennessee (24-11 SU/16-19 ATS) didn't trail often against No. 3 seed Virginia, but was down 71-70 with two minutes left Sunday. Then the Vols finished with a 9-1 run to claim a 79-72 victory as 1.5-point favorites.

LATEST UPDATE: As of 6:45 p.m. ET Friday, 40 minutes before tipoff, Michigan is -9.5 (-115) in BetMGM's 2026 Sweet 16 odds. That's up a point from this afternoon, though still down from Sunday's opener of Wolverines -10.5.

Regardless, there's plenty of action on favorite.

"We're gonna need Alabama to cover +8.5 against Michigan," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "And while it's the highest total on the board tonight, we'd like to see this one stay Under 172.5."

BetMGM actually opened at 172.5 and got as high as 175.5 Monday, before making its way back down. But as Magee noted, Under is still the need.

SECOND UPDATE: Michigan is steady 10.5-point chalk in Borgata Sports' March Madness odds Sweet 16 market, as of 1:30 p.m. ET Wednesday.

"There has been great advance handle on this game already, with pretty balanced action overall," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Both of these teams have no problem playing at a fast pace, and we’ve seen this total bet up from 172.5 to 174.5."

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 1 seed Michigan (33-3 SU/16-20 ATS) led No. 9 St. Louis 57-53 early in the second half Saturday. Then the Wolverines went on a 32-11 run en route to a 95-72 rout as 12.5-point favorites.

That ended an 0-6 ATS slide for Michigan, which is 6-1 SU in its last seven games.

No. 4 Alabama (25-9 SU/16-18 ATS) saw last week begin with the arrest of second-leading scorer Aden Holloway on a drug charge. Holloway was subsequently suspended.

But the Crimson Tide overcame the setback by posting blowouts over No. 13 seed Hofstra in Round 1 and Texas Tech in Round 2. On Sunday, Alabama was a slim 1.5-point favorite and pounded the Red Raiders 90-65. The Tide led 49-25 at halftime and cruised from there.

Still, DraftKings opened Michigan as double-digit chalk at -10.5 vs. Alabama. There was no early spread movement late Sunday night, but the total was a bit volatile, going from 175.5 to 173.5 (Over -115), then shooting to 176.5.

LATEST UPDATE: At 6:30 p.m. ET Friday, seven hours before tipoff, Duke is -6.5 at BetMGM. Forty minutes pre-tipoff, the book is dealing -105 juice on both sides.. The Blue Devils also opened -6.5, though they spent much of the week at various iterations of -7.5.

"As long as Duke wins tonight, that'll be enough for the house. St. John's +6.5 is one of the most-bet sides of the night, and there's plenty of interest in St. John's moneyline today," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "So the best result for the book would be Duke -6.5.

"While St. John's outright takes out a heap of parlays on Duke tonight, St. John's remains our biggest liability on the futures book."

BetMGM's total is at 140.5 (Over -115), the low point for the week, after opening at 143.5.

THIRD UPDATE: Duke is a steady 6.5-point favorite in Borgata Sports' March Madness Sweet 16 odds, as of 12:30 p.m. ET Wednesday.

"This will be the most heavily bet game of the round for us here at Borgata," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "We’ve had big decisions on both St. John’s games thus far, with the Red Storm covering one of two. Here, they are the underdogs against Duke.

"St. John’s moneyline has been a very popular bet, and this game will certainly follow the first two rounds, where we will need the Red Storm’s opponent to cover."

Borgata's total is down to 141.5 from a 143.5 opener.

SECOND UPDATE: In what is arguably the most appealing game on the 2026 Sweet 16 odds board, Duke is 6.5-point chalk at DraftKings, as of 1 p.m. ET Monday. That matches Sunday's opening number, though the Blue Devils spent about 90 minutes at 7.5 Monday morning.

Underdog St. John's is taking 58% of early spread bets/68% of early spread money.

DK's total is at 142.5 (Under -115), also matching the opener. The number spent an hour Monday morning at 141.5 (Over -115). Eighty percent of early tickets and dollars are on the Over.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 1 seed No. 1 seed Duke (34-2 SU/21-16 ATS) got a severe test Thursday from No. 16 seed Siena. Apparently, that woke up the Blue Devils, who belted No. 9 seed TCU 81-58 as 12.5-point second-round favorites Saturday.

Duke is on a 13-0 SU tear, part of a 23-1 overall SU run.

No. 5 seed St. John's (30-6 SU/20-16 ATS) blew a 14-point lead over the final eight minutes vs. No. 4 seed Kansas. But Dylan Darling drove for a buzzer-beating layup to give the Red Storm a 67-65 victory as 3.5-point favorites Sunday.

St. John's is on an 8-0 SU run (6-2 ATS).

DraftKings opened Duke -6.5 just before 8 p.m. ET Sunday, with no early movement. As of midnight ET Sunday, Duke is -6.5 (-115), though St. John's is getting 56% of early spread tickets/61% of early spread money.

LATEST UPDATE: An hour before tipoff, Arizona is -8.5 (even) in BetMGM's March Madness Sweet 16 odds. That's just off the opener of Wildcats -8.5 flat, though the number spent much of the past three days at -7.5, at various juice.

"We're hoping Arkansas will be the parlay killer of the day," BetMGM trading manager Tristan Davis said.

The total is at 165.5 (Under -115), down from 166.5 (Under -115) opener and 167.5 high point, but up from the low of 163.5 (Over -115) this morning. Davis said BetMGM needs the Under, per usual.

FOURTH UPDATE: As of 1 p.m. ET Thursday, Arizona just moved from -7.5 (-115) to -8.5 (-102) in BetMGM's NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 odds. Over the past four days, the Wildcats have toggled between the -8.5 opener and -7.5 multiple times, at various juice.

"I was expecting to see more Arkansas money, but maybe that won't come until tip," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "As it stands, most of the money we're seeing come in is on Arizona -7.5 and a heap of moneyline parlays tied to Arizona.

"It feels like if we get Arkansas inside the number, it would be great for the book."

And not just for the game. The Razorbacks are a notable futures liability at BetMGM, whereas Arizona is a good outcome. so an Arizona win/Arkansas cover would bode well for the book in March Madness futures odds.

The total is at 164.5 (Over -115), up from this morning's low point of 163.5 (Over -115), but down from the 166.5 (Under -115) opener and 167.5 high point early in the week.

THIRD UPDATE: As of 7:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, Arizona is -7.5, down from a -8.5 opener in Borgata Sports' March Madness odds Sweet 16 market.

"Arizona continues to look the part of a potential national champion," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "But the Wildcats are facing the best player remaining in the tournament in Darius Acuff Jr.

"We will probably need Arkansas here, strictly from a parlay-killing perspective. Arizona on the spread has been the most popular inclusion in parlays among all the Sweet 16 matchups."

Borgata's total is steady so far at 166.5.

SECOND UPDATE: As of 1 p.m. ET, Arizona is settled in at -8.5 (-105) in DraftKings' March Madness odds Sweet 16 market. That's after bouncing around Sunday night between various iterations of -8.5/-9.5.

Underdog Arkansas is a popular underdog early. The Razorbacks are netting 65% of early spread tickets/77% of early spread money.

DK's total is out to 167.5 from a 165.5 opener, with a stop at 166.5 along the way. Ticket count is dead even, but 70% of money is on the Over so far.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 4 seed Arkansas (28-8 SU/23-13 ATS) had its hands full much of the way vs. tournament darling and No. 12 seed High Point. But the Razorbacks held on for a 94-88 victory giving 12.4 points Saturday.

Arkansas is on a 7-0 SU run (4-3 ATS).

No. 1 seed Arizona (34-2 SU/22-14 ATS) was cruising five minutes into the second half, up 51-33 on No. 9 seed Utah State on Sunday night. But the Wildcats gave back almost all that 18-point bulge, which dwindled to four points multiple times.

However, Arizona pulled away late for a 78-66 win and cover as 11.5-point chalk. The Wildcats are on an 11-0 SU spree (7-4 ATS).

With that in mind, DraftKings opened Arizona -9.5 vs. Arkansas late Sunday night. The line quickly went to Wildcats -8.5 (-118), then to -9.5 (-102).

LATEST UPDATE: Twenty minute before tipoff, Purdue is laying 8.5 points in The SuperBook's March Madness odds Sweet 16 market. The Boilermakers opened -8 on Sunday, dipped to -7.5/-7 Monday, then returned to -7.5 Wednesday.

The line has toggled between Purdue -8/-8.5 a couple times today.

"We saw some sharp money on Purdue -7," SuperBook risk manager Casey Degnon said. "There are more tickets and money on Texas, both spread and moneyline. We're rooting for Purdue by a million and the Over, as of right now."

The total is at its low of 146.5, after opening at 150 and steadily dropping this week.

THIRD UPDATE: As of 1 p.m. ET Thursday, six hours ahead of tipoff, Purdue is -7.5 (-115) in BetMGM's March Madness Sweet 16 odds. The Boilermakers opened -7.5 (-118) and initially spiked to -8.5 (-105), but dipped to -6.5 multiple times this week, at various juice.

"Purdue took a bunch of money at -6.5. But we're seeing some buyback on Texas +7.5," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "I think by tip, we'd be happy to see Texas cover +6.5. And Texas outright would kill a ton of parlays."

BetMGM's total is at 147.5, down from the 148.5 opener and Tuesday's 149.5 high point. But with parlays and such, the book will still likely need the Under.

SECOND UPDATE: Purdue is a 7-point favorite in Borgata Sports' 2026 Sweet 16 odds, as of 7:30 p.m. ET Tuesday. The Boilermakers opened -7.5 on Sunday.

"Some early Purdue money pushed this up to -8. It has since fallen back to Purdue laying 7," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Purdue is finally playing closer to its potential that has at any point during the regular season.

"It's probably surprising for many that Texas is still alive, after being placed in the First Four and squeaking by N.C. State. While the Longhorns don’t fit the bill of a traditional Cinderella, they are an 11 seed still alive in the Sweet 16."

Borgata's total is stable at 148.5.

Prediction markets are also involved in March Madness odds. At Kalshi, Purdue is -7.5 (even), while Texas is +7.5 (-108). On the moneyline, it's Purdue -300/Texas +300.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 11 Texas (21-14 SU/19-15 ATS) is the only double-digit seed to reach the Sweet 16. The Longhorns upended No. 3 Gonzaga 74-68 as 6.5-point underdogs in Saturday's second round.

Texas is 3-0 SU and ATS in just the past few days, beating N.C. State in the First Four to get into the Field of 64, then dumping BYI in the first round. The Longhorns were underdogs in all three games.

No. 2 seed Purdue (29-8 SU/17-20 ATS) had a tough second-round battle vs. No. 7 Miami. But the Boilermakers pulled away late for a 79-69 victory to cash as 7.5-point favorites Sunday.

Purdue is on a 6-0 SU run (4-2 ATS), taking four games in the Big Ten Tourney and its first two in the NCAA Tourney.

DraftKings opened Purdue -7.5 vs. Texas at 2:30 p.m. ET Sunday. Purdue went to -8.5 within a couple hours, then Sunday night dipped to -7.5 (-115). As of midnight Sunday, Texas is drawing 54% of early spread bets/62% of early spread dollars.

Illinois vs. Houston Odds

LATEST UPDATE: With tipoff just over 60 minutes away, Houston is laying 2.5 points in 2026 Sweet 16 odds at BetMGM. The Cougars opened -2.5 (-115) and got to -3.5 a couple times early in the week, at various juice. It's been Cougars -2.5 at various juice since Tuesday evening.

"We will want Illinois to win outright. A cover would be good, but an outright win would be a great outcome," BetMGM trading manager Tristan Davis said.

The total toggled between the 139.5 opener/140.5 a couple times and is now 139.5 (Over -115). Davis said the Under is the need.

SECOND UPDATE: Houston is out to 3.5-point chalk in Borgata Sports' NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 odds, as of 7:30 p.m. ET Tuesday.

"We opened this game Houston -2.5, which on a true neutral court would probably be closer to 1.5. But this game is being played in Houston," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "The early money has all been on the Cougars, but I’m not sure if this number gets any higher.

"In my opinion, this is one of the most intriguing games on the schedule, with Illinois coming in as one of the best offenses and Houston with one of the best defenses."

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 2 seed Houston (30-6 SU/18-18 ATS) had no trouble at all with No. 10 seed Texas A&M. The Cougars led 46-28 at halftime and breezed to an 88-57 blowout laying 9.5 points Saturday.

Houston is 7-1 SU in its last eight games, with the only setback coming in the Big 12 title game vs. Arizona.

No. 3 Illinois (26-8 SU/18-16 ATS) had little trouble with No. 11 seed Virginia Commonwealth. The Fighting Illini pulled away in the second half for a 76-55 victory giving 12.5 points.

Illinois is 2-0 SU and ATS in the tourney.

On Saturday night, DraftKings Sportsbook opened Houston -2.5 vs. Illinois, and that's where it sits at noon ET Sunday. Early spread play is heavy to Houston, at 78% of bets/81% of money.

The total was on the move early, going from 140.5 to 139.5. Still, 84% of early bets/79% of early dollars are on the Over.

"There's some sharp money on Iowa +2.5. More tickets on Iowa, but more money on Nebraska. As of now, we're rooting for Iowa," SuperBook risk manager Casey Degnon said.

The total is at 131.5, a tick up from the 131 low, but well off the Sunday night opener of 134.5. But Degnon said there's not much of a decision on the total.

SECOND UPDATE: Nebraska is laying 1.5 points in Borgata Sports' March Madness Sweet 16 odds, as of 7:30 p.m. ET Tuesday. That's down a tick from Sunday's opener of Huskers -2.

"This is the least-bet of the Sweet 16 games thus far," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "These two schools aren’t exactly known for their traditional basketball prowess.

"But they’re two of the six remaining Big Ten teams, and this game at least guarantees the conference one team into the Elite 8."

Nebraska had a relatively short trek to Oklahoma City for its first- and second-round games, and Iowa had a short trip, too, to St. Louis.

"We will probably see a lot of Cornhusker faithful come out for this one as well," Gable said.

Borgata's total is at 132.5 from a 133.5 opener.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 9 seed Iowa (23-12 SU/20-15 ATS pulled the shocker of the NCAA Tournament so far. The Hawkeyes stunned No. 1 seed Florida 73-72 on Alvaro Folgueiras' corner 3-pointer with four seconds left. The Gators failed to get off a shot as time expired.

Iowa, a 10.5-point underdog, stunningly sent home defending national champion Florida.

Meanwhile, in eight prior NCAA Tournament trips, No. 4 seed Nebraska posted zero wins. Now, the Huskers have two wins in the first weekend of the 2026 tourney. And it doesn't get any more riveting than the second victory.

On Saturday night vs. No. 5 Vanderbilt, Nebraska (28-6 SU/19-15 ATS) got a Braden Frager layup with 2.2 seconds left, then watched Tyler Tanner's halfcourt-plus heave rim out at the buzzer. That gave the Huskers a 74-72 victory as 1.5-point underdogs.

So it'll be a Big Ten rivalry on the Sweet 16 odds board. DraftKings opened Nebraska as a 2.5-point favorite vs. border neighbor Iowa. The Huskers are getting the bulk of early looks, at 59% of spread bets/76% of spread money, as of midnight ET Sunday.

These two teams met twice in the regular season, with the home team winning and cashing each time. On Feb. 17, Iowa took a 57-52 win as a 1.5-point favorite. In the March 8 regular-season finale, Nebraska notched an 84-75 overtime victory laying 4.5 points.
