UConn vs. South Carolina Odds

  • Opening point spread: UConn -5.5 (-105)
  • Opening moneyline: UConn -238/South Carolina +195
  • Opening total: Over/Under 131.5 points scored
  • Time: 3 p.m. ET Sunday (ABC/ESPN)

UPDATE 2:15 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Inside an hour before tipoff, UConn is -6.5 (-115) in BetMGM's UConn vs. South Carolina odds. That's up a point from Friday night's Huskies -5.5 opener.

In digital wagering at BetMGM (online/mobile betting), 56% of spread tickets/69% of spread dollars are on UConn. Moneyline action, though, favors underdog South Carolina, at 74% of bets/52% of cash. The Gamecocks opened +195 and have stretched to +260 pups.

"We need South Carolina +6.5," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said, while noting Gamecocks outright would be good, too. "We took some big bets on South Carolina to win the championship, so that's a liability.

"But when you factor in parlays on UConn for the game, everything balances out."

Two of those big Gamecocks futures bets:

  • $100,000 +275, to win $275,000
  • $25,000 +320, to win $80,000

The total climbed from 132.5 to 134.5 (Over -115), with 81% of tickets/88% of cash on the Over.

UPDATE 10:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: UConn is now 6.5-point chalk, after two moves this afternoon at DraftKings Sportsbook. The Huskies went from -5.5 (-115) to -5.5 (-118), then to -6.5 (-105). That's after UConn opened -5.5 (-105) Friday night.

Early spread play is solidly on the Huskies, who are attracting 68% of bets/85% of dollars at DraftKings. And they're laying UConn moneyline, which opened -258 and is now -290. The Huskies are grabbing 72% of bets/75% of cash on the moneyline.

The total is up 2 points to 133.5, with 85% of bets/93% of money on the Over so far.

UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Top seed South Carolina (35-3 SU) was in a fight at halftime tonight, leading fellow No. 1 seed Texas 38-35. But the Gamecocks rolled in the second half, posting a 74-57 victory as 5.5-point favorites.

No. 2 seed UConn didn't give No. 1 seed UCLA nearly as much hope. The Huskies (35-3 SU) led by 10 after the first quarter, 20 at halftime and 23 after three quarters. Then Geno Auriemma's troops really put the hammer down in the final stanza for an 85-51 blowout laying 7.5 points.

UConn, seeking its first title since 2016, is on a 15-game SU win streak. South Carolina, looking for back-to-back championships and its third title in four years, is on a 12-0 SU run entering Sunday's final.

DraftKings Sportsbook opened UConn -5.5 (-105) in Women's March Madness odds for the championship game. Within minutes, the line adjusted to Huskies -5.5 (-115). The total opened at 131.5 and quickly moved to 132.5.
