Big 12 Football Championship Odds: Oklahoma State Draws Lopsided Action

Big 12 football championship odds have a much different look for the upcoming season. For starters, there are now 16 teams in the conference. And Oklahoma isn't one of them, having bolted for the SEC.

But Oklahoma State is still there and, interestingly, is getting plenty of attention in odds to win the Big 12 conference championship.

Here’s everything you need to know about 2024 Big 12 football championship odds: action, movement and betting trends for the conference title.

When The SuperBook first posted Big 12 Conference futures odds, on July 14, a newcomer was atop the board. Utah, which moved in after the collapse of the Pac-12, opened as the +300 chalk.

Kansas State was close behind at +350, then there was a notable gap to co-third choices Kansas and Oklahoma State, at +800. But early bettors seem to think there's value in the Cowboys.

In fact, the Pokes are drawing more bets than any team to win any conference in the country.

"There are two times more tickets on Oklahoma State to win the Big 12 than on any other team in college football to win their respective conference," SuperBook senior risk supervisor Casey Degnon said. "Oklahoma State has the most money, too."

As such, the Cowboys closed the gap on the Utes and Wildcats in Big 12 championship odds. Oklahoma State is now the +650 solo third choice, while Utah remains +300 and K-State is into +315.

"The Oklahoma State action is somewhat surprising, but not a total shock, just based on our odds and the other odds that were out there," Degnon said. "The Cowboys are also considered a top-25 team coming into the season. To this point, it's been more public action on them than anything else."

More Ticket Takers, Money Makers

Another perhaps surprising team is seeing action in Big 12 football championship odds.

"The second-most-popular team in terms of ticket count and money wagered is Central Florida," Degnon said. "UCF opened 12/1, and we are down to 10/1."

That has the Knights as the fifth choice, trailing Utah, K-State, Oklahoma State and Kansas (+900). So what's the rooting interest behind the counter?

"There are several teams we win on currently. But for teams at the top, we would be fine with Utah or Kansas being crowned Big 12 champs in December," Degnon said.
