No. 9 Mississippi vs No. 2 Georgia Odds
- Opening point spread: Georgia -11
- Opening moneyline: Georgia -455/Ole Miss +335
- Opening total: Over/Under 58.5 points scored
- Time: 7 p.m. ET Saturday (ESPN)
UPDATE 6:15 P.M. ET SATURDAY: With 45 minutes until kickoff, BetMGM Nevada has Georgia -10.5 (-120). The line has been Bulldogs -10.5 at various juice all week, never moving off the number.
"Tickets approaching 2/1 and money also 2/1 on Georgia," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said of action solely in the sportsbook's Las Vegas market. "They are playing Mississippi on the moneyline +340, 3.5/1 tickets and 3/1 money. A Georgia win and Mississippi cover would be ideal.
"But even if Mississippi wins outright, we're good. That would bust up moneyline parlays, teasers, all that."
Shelton said the total is stapled to 58.5 and seeing good two-way action.
UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: PointsBet toggled the Bulldogs between -11 and -10.5 multiple times so far this week and is currently at -11. The underdog Rebels are landing 60% of early spread bets/72% of early spread cash.
"Bettors are slightly favoring Ole Miss in this matchup, as we have a small liability on both Ole Miss moneyline and spread. They also anticipate a lower-scoring game, with bettors favoring the under," PointsBet trader Will Radice said. "Georgia hasn't lost at home since 2019, but with Brock Bowers still questionable, bettors are hoping Ole Miss can come away with an upset against the AP No. 1 Bulldogs."
PointsBet's total opened at 59 and bottomed out briefly at 57.5 Wednesday, then went to 58. The Over is getting 56% of bets, but 72% of cash is on the Under.
UPDATE 3 P.M. ET MONDAY: Georgia (9-0 SU/3-6 ATS) got a stern test from Missouri, but survived to stay unbeaten. The Bulldogs notched a 30-21 victory, failing to cash as 14-point home faves.
Ole Miss (8-1 SU/6-2-1 ATS) let leads of 14-0 and 28-14 slip away against Texas A&M. Ultimately, the Rebels got a late touchdown to squeak out a 38-35 home win giving 3 points at home.
TwinSpires pushed Georgia from -11 to -11.5. Ole Miss is seeing 61% of early spread bets, while 55% of early spread cash is on Georgia.
"The public is grabbing the points so far. Ole Miss moneyline is also quite popular," Lucas said. "It's early, but we'll need Georgia to at least win this game to avoid paying out +360 on the 'dog."
The total moved from 58.5 to 59.
