  • Opening point spread: Notre Dame -2.5
  • Opening moneyline: Notre Dame -130/USC +107
  • Opening total: Over/Under 63 points scored
  • Time: 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday (NBC)

UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: An hour before kickoff, BetMGM Nevada has Notre Dame at -3 (-105). The Fighting Irish have bounced between the -2.5 opener and -3 throughout the week, at various juice.

"Tickets almost 2/1 USC and money just over 3/1," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said of action in the sportsbook's Las Vegas market.

That money difference is bolstered by a notable six-figure wager on USC +3 (-130).

Earlier today, BetMGM's Seamus Magee indicated that nationally, the book needs Notre Dame to at least win, if not cover.

"Is it too much to ask the Irish to win a big game? USC winning outright would be an awful result for us," Magee said.

UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Notre Dame has bounced between various iterations of -2.5 and -3 all week at PointsBet. The Fighting Irish are now -2.5 (-115) on two-way action with a lean toward USC. The Trojans are netting 53% of early tickets/55% of early cash.

PointsBet's total opened at 62.5 and peaked at 63 multiple times early in the week. It's now down to 60.5 (Under -115), although tickets and money are in the 3/1 range on the Over.

UPDATE MIDNIGHT ET MONDAY: USC (6-0 SU/2-4 ATS) remained unbeaten, but barely so in a Week 6 game it was supposed to win with ease. The Trojans closed as 21-point home faves against Arizona and fell into a 17-0 hole by early in the second quarter.

Southern Cal scrambled to take a 28-20 lead. But Arizona tied it at 28 midway through the fourth quarter, and the Trojans got dragged into overtime. USC ultimately prevailed 43-41 in triple OT.

Notre Dame would've gladly accepted an overtime win at Louisville, but got nothing of the sort. The Fighting Irish (5-2 SU and ATS) lost 33-20 as 6.5-point favorites.

TwinSpires opened Notre Dame -2.5 and is down to -2 early in the week. USC is taking 59% of early tickets and cash on the spread.

"At 6-0, USC is a trendy 'dog. But we've seen this spot last week, when numerous public 'dogs didn't cover – Mizzou, Maryland and Kentucky," Lucas said.

The total steamed from 63 to 61 early, but has already rebounded to the 63 opener.

"Sharp play on Under 63," Lucas said.

UPDATE 6:45 P.M. ET SATURDAY: At BetMGM Nevada, North Carolina is laying 3 points, climbing up from -2.5 (-115) in just the past few minutes. The Tar Heels opened -3.5 and spent most of the week there at various juice (-110/-115/-105). On Friday, the line dipped to UNC -3, and this morning it went to -2.5 (-115).

"It's 2.5/1 tickets and 10/1 money on North Carolina," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said.

He noted that the money split is skewed by a $115,000 bet on North Carolina -2.5 (-115).

The total opened and was at 57.5 most of the week, but early on spent time at 56.5 and 55.5.

"It's 3/1 tickets on the Over, 3/1 money on the Under," Shelton said, noting sharp play on both sides.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET FRIDAY: North Carolina spent most of the week at various iterations of -3.5 at BetMGM (-105/-110/-115). In just the past half hour, though, the Tar Heels dropped to -3. North Carolina is taking 63% of spread bets/62% of spread cash.

On the moneyline, Miami is getting a hefty 84% of early tickets, but money is much closer, at 52% on the Hurricanes.

The total went from 56.5 to 55.5 to 57.5, all on Monday, then Thursday afternoon returned to the 56.5 opener. Ticket count is 3/1 and money beyond 9/1 on the Over.

UPDATE MIDNIGHT ET MONDAY: This ACC clash should be a battle of unbeatens. But it was kept from being so when Miami coach Mario Cristobal made one of the dumbest play calls ever.

With the clock running and under 35 seconds left, and Georgia Tech having no timeouts, Miami could've taken a knee with its 20-17 lead and ended the game. Instead, the 'Canes – at Tech's 30-yard line – ran the ball, fumbled, and the Yellow Jackets recovered.

Miami (4-1 SU/3-2 ATS), laying 19.5 points, then lost 23-20 on Georgia Tech's final-seconds 44-yard touchdown pass.

North Carolina (5-0 SU/4-1 ATS) had no such brain cramps against Syracuse. The Tar Heels scored the first 27 points in a 40-7 victory laying 9.5 points at home.

TwinSpires opened UNC -4, receded to -3.5, then returned to -4. Tickets and money are running close to even early on.

"Sharp play on both sides after the opener. See-saw action so far," Lucas said.

The total hasn't moved off 56.5, with 55% of early tickets/57% of early dollars on the Under.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Kentucky went from -2.5 to -1.5 (-115) for a few minutes Thursday afternoon at BetMGM, then returned to -2.5. The Wildcats are nabbing 79% of spread bets/78% of spread money so far.

The total dropped from 53.5 to 50.5 by Thursday afternoon, with stops at 52.5 and 51.5 along the way. Ticket count is 2/1 plus on the Over, but money is running almost dead even.

UPDATE MIDNIGHT ET MONDAY: Missouri was leading LSU for significant portions of a Week 6 meeting and was covering the entire game. That is, until the final minute.

Trailing 42-39 and on their own 5-yard line, the Tigers (5-1 SU/3-3 ATS) threw a pick-six and lost 49-39 as 6-point home underdogs.

Like Mizzou, Kentucky was a trendy underdog spread play in Week 6. Unlike Mizzou, the Wildcats (5-1 SU/4-2 ATS) were never in it at No. 1 Georgia. Kentucky, catching 14.5 points, trailed 34-7 at halftime and lost 51-13.

The Wildcats opened -2.5 in TwinSpires' college football odds Week 7 market. The first move was up to -3, then the line returned to -2.5. Kentucky is getting 72% of early spread tickets/58% of early spread money.

"The public is expecting Kentucky to bounce back. It's already 5/1 tickets and money on Kentucky moneyline," Lucas said.

The total is stable at 53.5, with 52% of tickets on the Under/60% of money on the Over.

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Duke toggled between -3 and -3.5 this week at BetMGM and is currently -3 (-115). The Blue Devils are attracting 80% of early spread bets, but 53% of early spread money is on the underdog Wolfpack.

The total plummeted from 48.5 to 43.5 (Over -115) by Thursday afternoon, with several stops along the way throughout the week. Rain is in the forecast for the Durham area throughout the day Saturday. The Under is landing 74% of bets/86% of money.

UPDATE MIDNIGHT ET MONDAY: Duke (4-1 SU/3-2 ATS) got a well-earned breather with a Week 6 bye. In Week 5, the Blue Devils nearly knocked off Notre Dame, giving up a last-minute TD in a 20-14 setback as 5.5-point home 'dogs.

North Carolina State (4-2 SU/1-4-1 ATS) finally got a spread-cover in Week 6, though barely. The Wolfpack, giving 6.5 points, beat visiting Marshall 48-41.

This line has bounced around a bunch already at Caesars. Duke opened -4, got as low as -3 shortly thereafter Sunday, then made its way back to -4 early this afternoon. The Blue Devils are now -3.5.

The total fell from 48 to 46.5 by this afternoon.

UPDATE 7:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Oregon State is a 3.5-point favorite, where the Beavers have been since Wednesday at BetMGM Nevada. That's after Oregon State opened -4.5 and went to -4 Monday.

"It's 2/1 tickets and 20/1 money on Oregon State," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said.

However, the money discrepancy is due to one large bet on the Beavers, $110,000 at -3.5.

The total went from 52.5 to 53.5 to 54.5 early in the week, and it's been at 54.5 (Under -115) since Wednesday at BetMGM Nevada.

"Money and tickets are on the Under, 5/1 money and 2/1 tickets," Shelton said.

UPDATE 3 P.M. ET THURSDAY: This line steadily made its way from Oregon State -5 to -3.5 by Wednesday afternoon, with stops at -4.5 and -4 along the way at PointsBet. Still, early spread tickets are running 3/1 Beavers, and practically all the early spread money is on Oregon State.

The total climbed from 53.5 and got to 55 (Under -115) early Tuesday. It then backed up Wednesday to 54, where it remains. The Under is getting 61% of early bets and a hefty 94% of early dollars.

UPDATE MIDNIGHT ET MONDAY: UCLA (4-1 SU/3-2 ATS) earned a solid Week 6 home win over then-No. 13 and unbeaten Washington State. The Bruins, actually giving 3 points at home, scored two fourth-quarter TDs to claim a 25-17 victory.

Oregon State (5-1 SU/4-2 ATS) won and cashed in a high-scoring shootout against Cal. The Beavers, 7.5-point road favorites, had a 17-point fourth quarter to pull away for a 52-40 win.

Oregon State is down a half-point from -4.5 to -4 on TwinSpires' college football Week 7 odds board. The Beavers are taking 64% of early tickets, while 54% of early cash is on the Bruins.

"Sharp play on UCLA +4.5 early in the week," Lucas said.

The total climbed from 53.5 to 54.5 this evening, with 66% of tickets/62% of money on the Over.

BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said there was sharp play on Pittsburgh +8.

"Tickets are really close, a handful more on Louisville. But it's just over 2/1 Louisville on money count," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said.

The total fell from 47.5 to 44.5 by Wednesday and hasn't moved since.

"Tickets and money dead even. Sharp play on Under 47.5 and Under 46.5," Shelton said.

UPDATE 3 P.M. ET THURSDAY: This line crashed in a hurry at multiple sportsbooks. PointsBet opened the Cardinals -10 (-105) Sunday afternoon and within three hours was down to -7.5 (-115).

Louisville rebounded to -8 Sunday night, then returned to -7.5 Tuesday morning. The Cardinals are drawing 61% of early spread bets, while 79% of early spread money is on the Panthers. PointsBet noted it was definitely early sharp money on Pitt that drove the number down in the college football odds Week 7 market.

The total fell from 47.5 to 46 by Monday afternoon, then to 45 (Under -120 late Wednesday night. It bottomed out today at 44.5 before returning to 45 (Under -120). Ticket count is 2.5/1 on the Over, but money is almost 8/1 on the Under.

UPDATE MIDNIGHT ET MONDAY: Louisville (6-0 SU/3-2-1 ATS) is making some noise in the ACC. The Cardinals closed as 6.5-point home 'dogs against Notre Dame and pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 33-20 victory.

Pitt (1-4 SU and ATS) is on a four-game SU and ATS slide. The Panthers, who had a bye last week, fell to Virginia Tech 38-21 as 3-point road faves in Week 5.

Interestingly, this line quickly dropped from Louisville -10.5 to -8.5 Sunday afternoon at Caesars. And it fell another point today to Louisville -7.5. The total is down to 46 from the 47.5 opener.

Until the Bayou Bengals got a pick-six in the final minute. That gave LSU (4-2 SU/3-3 ATS) a 49-39 victory.

Auburn had a bye in Week 6. In Week 5, the Tigers gave Georgia far more than expected, losing 27-20 as 14-point home pups.

The drops in the spread and total are in part tied to Kansas QB Jalon Daniels (back) looking likely to miss a third straight game. His status has not been officially announced, but The Action Network's Brett McMurphy tweeted Thursday that Jason Bean would again start.

After opening -3 at Caesars, Kansas quickly climbed to -3.5/-4/-4.5 Sunday afternoon. On Sunday evening, the line crept back to Jayhawks -4. The total is down 1.5 points to 56.5.

Vanderbilt (2-5 SU/0-7 ATS) has been the worst spread bet in the nation this season. And the Commodores are probably dying for a break, as they've played each week since Week 0. In Week 6, Vandy lost 38-14 as an 18-point 'dog at Florida.
