The moneyline is more balanced. Home 'dog Oregon is getting 53% of bets, while 58% of money is on Ohio State.

The total is at 53.5, with tickets almost 2/1 and money beyond 3/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET MONDAY: This is the no-doubt Game of the Week and arguably the second-best game so far this season, behind only Georgia-Alabama. Ohio State is 5-0 SU/3-2 ATS, while new Big Ten member Oregon is 5-0 SU but just 1-4 ATS.

In Week 6, the Buckeyes thumped Iowa 35-7 laying 17.5 points at home. Ohio State led just 7-0 at halftime, but rang up four more TDs to build a 35-0 edge with 11 minutes remaining.

Ohio State landed on TwinSpires Sportsbook's college football Week 7 odds board as 3.5-point chalk. There's no movement so far, with 59% of early spread tickets/57% of early spread money on Oregon.

UPDATE 5:45 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Less than two hours before kickoff, Ole Miss is 4-point chalk in DraftKings' Week 7 college football odds. The Rebels opened -2.5 and spent most of the week bouncing between -3/-3.5 at various juice.

UPDATE 4:30 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Ole Miss is -3.5 (-105), after opening -3.5 flat in ESPNBet's Week 7 college football odds. The Rebels are netting 60% of early spread bets and a healthy 89% of early spread money.

The total is at 63.5 (Under -115), down from the 64.5 opener, with 75% of bets on the Over, but money running dead even.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET MONDAY: Ole Miss (5-1 SU and ATS) rebounded from its stunning Week 5 home loss to Kentucky. The ninth-ranked Rebels went to South Carolina as 10.5-point favorites and returned home with a 27-3 blowout win.

No. 13 Louisiana State (4-1 SU/1-4 ATS) had a bye in Week 6. For that matter, Week 5 was practically a bye, as the Tigers hosted Sun Belt Conference foe South Alabama. LSU led 35-3 at halftime and breezed to a 42-10 victory giving 20.5 points.

It was the first spread-cover this season for the Tigers.

Although LSU is on home turf, TwinSpires Sportsbook opened Ole Miss as 2.5-point favorites in the college football odds Week 7 market. The Rebels are currently -2.5 (-121) while netting 58% of early bets/61% of early money.

The total opened at 65.5 and is down to 64.5, with 58% of bets on the Over/63% of cash on the Under.

"Sharp play on Under 65.5," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said.

UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Texas spent all week at various iterations of -14.5 on BetMGM's Week 7 college football odds board. Then this morning came moves to -15.5 and -16.5. And in the past hour, the Longhorns went to -17.

"It's one-way traffic on the Longhorns, though we're starting to see some Sooner money come back on the 17," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "We're gonna need Under 49, as well."

Earlier today – and it's even more true now – Magee said Oklahoma is among the book's biggest needs of the day, along with South Carolina (at Alabama) and Oregon (vs. Ohio State).

"A cover is good, but an outright win would be great for the sportsbook," Magee said of not only Oklahoma, but all three of those teams. "Pros and Joes are on Texas here. We're gonna need Oklahoma to keep this one within two touchdowns."

BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton reported sharp play on Texas -14.5.

The total opened at 50.5 and went to 51.5 Sunday, then fell as low as 48.5 Thursday. It went to 49.5 Friday night and is now at 49. However, as Magee noted above, BetMGM needs the Under, contrary to the overall dip.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Texas is 14.5-point chalk in ESPNBET's college football odds Week 7 market, matching the opening number. Oklahoma is seeing 57% of spread tickets, but 64% of spread cash is on Texas.

On the moneyline, there's much greater disparity. The Sooners are attracting 81% of moneyline tickets as +500 underdogs, while 59% of moneyline cash is on the Longhorns (-700).

ESPNBET's total is at 48.5 (Over -115), with 74% of bets/59% of money on the Over.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: The Longhorns opened and are currently -14.5 on ESPNBet's college football Week 7 odds board. Oklahoma is seeing 57% of early spread tickets, while 67% of early spread dollars are on Texas.

Moneyline customers are flocking to the big plus price on the Sooners, currently +475. Oklahoma is grabbing 85% of moneyline tickets/84% of moneyline cash.

ESPNBet's total is at 50.5, with 76% of bets and 53% of money on the Over.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET MONDAY: Texas is 5-0 SU/4-1 ATS and is ranked No. 1 in the AP poll, though the Longhorns are No. 2 in College Football Playoff odds. In Week 6, Texas had a bye, after rolling over Mississippi State 35-13 in Week 5.

However, the Longhorns were massive 37.5-point favorites in that contest. So they failed to cover for the first time this season.

No. 18 Oklahoma (4-1 SU/3-2 ATS) also had a Week 6 bye. In Week 5, the Sooners erased a 21-10 fourth-quarter deficit at Auburn to win 27-21 as 2-point underdogs.

It appears Texas QB Quinn Ewers will return this week, after missing two games with an abdominal strain.

TwinSpires Sportsbook opened this annual neutral-site game – played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas – at Texas -14.5 in Week 7 college football odds. The line went to -14, then returned to -14.5. Early spread tickets and money are running almost 2/1 on Oklahoma.

"Money is pouring in on the 'dog. The public is expecting a closer matchup here," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said.

The total opened at 51 and is down to 49.5, with 53% of tickets on the Over/57% of money on the Under.

UPDATE 2:45 P.M. ET SATURDAY: The Nittany Lions shot from -3.5 to -4.5/-5.5 Sunday night on BetMGM's college football Week 7 odds board. Then on Thursday, the line backed up to Penn State -4.5/-4/-3.5, going to -3.5 (-115) Friday night.

This afternoon, the line adjusted to -3.5 flat.

"Sharps bet this down from 5.5 earlier in the week. [But] we're pretty lopsided on Penn State -3.5. We're gonna need the Trojans," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.

The total climbed from 47.5 to 50.5 by Tuesday, and it went to 51.5 (Under -115) this afternoon.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Penn State is laying 3.5 points at Fanatics Sportsbook.

"At the 3.5, 60% of money and 72% of tickets are on Penn State," Fanatics trader Ethan Useloff said.

Further, Useloff noted that Penn State is in a lot of moneyline parlays and such.

UPDATE 4:30 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: The Nittany Lions are 4-point favorites at ESPNBET, matching the opener. It's two-way spread play with a lean toward Penn State, at 55% of early tickets/58% of early money.

Perhaps not surprising, home 'dog USC is getting moneyline attention, currently sitting at +175. The Trojans are drawing 68% of moneyline tickets/80% of moneyline dollars.

The total is at 50.5 from a 48.5 opener, with 79% of tickets/87% of money on the Over.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET MONDAY: Penn State (5-0 SU/2-3 ATS) is in a 1-3 ATS rut, but has done enough to reach No. 4 in the AP poll. In Week 6, the Nittany Lions coasted to a 27-11 victory over UCLA, but fell well short of covering as 29.5-point home favorites.

Southern Cal (3-2 SU and ATS) dropped out of the rankings after what could be a CFP-killing loss at Minnesota. The Trojans were 8.5-point favorites and lost 24-17, giving up two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

Penn State opened -5.5 in TwinSpires' college football odds Week 7 market. The line hasn't moved on what's ostensibly dead-even spread tickets and money early on.

"Liability and tickets are right down the middle so far," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said.

The total is stable, too, at 47.5, but 62% of early tickets/75% of early dollars are on the Over.

"We'll be rooting for a snoozer in this one," Lucas said.

How to Make College Football Picks for Week 7

The key to wagering successfully in college football spread betting is to decide early how many points you’re willing to lay with favorites and to get in at the lowest possible spot.

If you’re going to back the underdog, make sure you’re getting the most points possible entering the game. The skill in this often requires you to forecast how a game will be wagered, since we often see opening lines bet up over the course of the week due to the majority of the money coming in on the favorite.
