No. 14 Utah vs No. 18 USC Odds

• Opening point spread: USC -5.5
• Opening moneyline: USC -200/Utah +163
• Opening total: Over/Under 56 points scored
• Time: 8 p.m. ET Saturday (FOX)

UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Ninety minutes pre-kick, USC is a 7-point chalk, where the number has been most of the week at BetMGM Nevada. The Trojans opened -5.5 and quickly got bet to -6.5/-7.

"Sharp play on USC -5.5/-6.5. Sharps and public are both on USC, 2/1 tickets and 3/1 money," BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton said.

On the moneyline, ticket count is 3/1 Utah, and Shelton said virtually all the money is on the Utes. That includes two $10,000 bets on Utah +220.

The total tumbled from 56 to 51.5 over the course of the week, with multiple stops along the way. Shelton said ticket count is dead even and money 5/1 on the Under.

UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: After a dismal performance at Notre Dame, USC landed on PointsBet's college football Week 8 odds board as a 5-point favorite. But the Trojans got out to -7 Monday and remain there this evening.

That said, spread tickets are dead even and spread money almost 5/1 on Utah.

"The opening number was an overreaction to USC's offensive performance against Notre Dame," PointsBet trader Wyatt Satre said. "Utah still has massive questions at quarterback without Cam Rising, and the Utes have been much more vulnerable away from Salt Lake City."

The total is down to 53 from a 56 opener at PointsBet, with tickets 2/1 on the Over, but money 2.5/1 on the Under.

UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: Southern Cal (6-1 SU/2-5 ATS) was dealt its first loss of the season in Week 7, and it was embarrassing. The Trojans, 3-point pups at Notre Dame, got run out of the stadium 48-20.

Utah (5-1 SU/3-2-1 ATS) rebounded from its loss at Oregon State by rolling past California 34-14 as 9-point home chalk.

The Trojans have already moved to -6 and -6.5 in TwinSpires' college football odds Week 8 market. USC is netting 55% of early bets/66% of early money.

"Sharp play on USC -5.5. Bettors are expecting a rebound after the Notre Dame loss," Lucas said.

The total hasn't moved off 56, with the Over seeing 71% of tickets/55% of dollars.
