🚨UPDATE 4:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Three hours before kickoff, the Buffaloes are -7.5 in BetMGM's Colorado vs. Colorado State odds. That matches the opening number, but the Buffs were at -7 from Tuesday to Friday evening, then went to -7.5 (-105).

This morning Colorado adjusted to -7.5 flat.

"For the first time in a long time, the house needs Coach Prime and Colorado. A 50/50 split on the moneyline makes the Rams a loser there. And there's plenty of interest on Colorado State with the points," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.

The total opened at 59.5, bottomed out at 57.5 Thursday and went to 58.5 Friday. Magee said the total is seeing good two-way play.

🚨UPDATE 4:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: There are still more than 24 hours until kickoff. But overall action on this matchup shows a dampening of enthusiasm thus far for Coach Prime and Colorado.

"This one is really interesting" Fanatics Sportsbook college football trader Ty Gour said. "When the schedule was made, we thought this would be a huge game for us. But we're seeing the hype really die down.

"We're still seeing some favoritism toward the Buffaloes on the moneyline. But interestingly enough, the Rams are taking two-thirds of action at +7 on the spread."

That said, Colorado is now -7.5 (-105) at Fanatics, after spending much of the week at -7. The moneyline is at Colorado -285/Colorado State +230.

The total opened at 59.5 and dropped to 57.5, but is now on the rebound at 58.5.

"The Over is getting smashed. At 57.5, the Over is getting 94% of the money," Gour said.

Colorado (1-1 SU/0-2 ATS) got a serious come-uppance in Week 2 at Nebraska. The impotent Buffs trailed 28-0 at halftime and ultimately lost 28-10 as 6.5-point underdogs.

Colorado State (1-1 SU/0-2 ATS) went to Texas in Week 1 and got whomped 52-0, pretty much as expected. The Rams got a respite in Week 2, beating FCS foe Northern Colorado 38-17. But Colorado State didn't cover as 30.5-point home chalk.

The Buffaloes opened -7.5 and made a stop at -7 on the way to the current -6.5 in TwinSpires Sportsbook's college football odds Week 3 market. The Buffs are taking 72% of early spread tickets/55% of early spread money.

"Per usual, the majority of the money is backing Colorado. Sharp play on Colorado State +7.5 and +7," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said Thursday.

The total is down a point, from 59.5 to 58.5 in TwinSpires' Colorado vs. Colorado State odds. The Over is netting 63% of tickets/54% of dollars.

Last year in Boulder, Colorado State led most of the game. Colorado ultimately won 43-35 in double overtime, while the Rams covered as hefty 22.5-point underdogs.
