  • Opening point spread: Hawaii -38
  • Opening moneyline: Not available
  • Opening total: Over/Under 55.5 points scored
  • Time: Midnight ET Saturday

UPDATE 10:45 P.M. ET SATURDAY: With 75 minutes until kickoff, the Warriors are laying 39.5 points in BetMGM Nevada's Delaware State vs Hawaii odds. The line opened Tuesday morning at Hawaii -38.5, peaked at -40.5 Thursday morning and backed up to -39.5 (-115) today.

BetMGM Nevada's Scott Shelton is expecting a lot more action on this game in the final minutes before kickoff. Late-night Hawaii contests have a rich history of being well-bet.

"It's right at game that you really see the money. It just pours in. That being said, there are quite a few tickets on this game already," Shelton said. "It's 2/1 tickets and 2/1 money on Hawaii."

With such a massive spread, BetMGM Nevada isn't offering a moneyline on odds for Delaware State vs Hawaii.

The total was on the decline most of today. After opening at 56.5 and reaching 57.5 Tuesday, the number fell to 55.5 Thursday. Then from late this morning through late this afternoon, it dropped to 54.5/53.5/52.5.

However, early this evening, the total climbed to 53.5, and it just moved to 54.5.

"We don't have much of a decision on that," Shelton said. "It's pretty good two-way, 1.5 times the tickets and money on the Over. We need Delaware State +39.5 and the Under."

UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: On Tuesday afternoon, The SuperBook opened this late-night kick at Hawaii -38 and went to -38.5 within a couple hours. This morning, the Warriors advanced another half-point to -39 in college football Week 0 odds.

Delaware State's travel fiasco Tuesday – due to issues with the team buses, the Hornets missed their flight and had to travel out today instead – contributed to the line shift.

"There's not really a ton of action yet. The market was kind of moving with Delaware State's bus fiasco," SuperBook senior risk supervisor Casey Degnon said.

With only four games Saturday, and this one standing all alone, Degnon foresees bettors taking note, as they often do with Hawaii home games.

"There's a big spread and no moneyline. It's the last game on Saturday, so I can see it getting more action than if it was stuffed into a regular Saturday schedule," Degnon said. "The public will get involved. But as it sits now, there's not much of a decision."

The total hasn't moved off 57.5 in The SuperBook's Delaware State vs Hawaii odds market.

"There's no real action on the total yet," Degnon said.

UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: As an FCS vs. FBS matchup, some of the more prominent sportsbooks either just posted odds today or don't even have this game up yet. At the few spots that have Delaware State vs Hawaii odds, the Warriors are massive favorites of -38/-38.5.

Early in game week, action is quite light on this contest. But don't expect that to be the case by kickoff. Late-Saturday-night Hawaii home games have a way of getting bettors' attention, as veteran Vegas oddsmaker Jay Rood explains.

"It's cult-like in how Hawaii games get money that does not line up with the on-the-field matchup," Rood said. "Generally, bookmakers love it, as a late-night Hawaii game doesn't really carry the parlay liabilities that a late Pac-12 or Sunday night NFL game do.

"It's just bigger action than the game should get, because it's the get-even or get-even deeper game."

At DraftKings Sportsbook, Hawaii is laying 38 points, despite coming off a disappointing 5-8 SU and ATS campaign. But the Warriors went 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four games, as underdogs in all four matchups. Delaware State, an FCS team, was far worse in 2023, going 1-10 SU.

Even with the big number, Hawaii is netting 55% of early spread tickets/60% of early spread dollars. But again, that action is light. That'll change by Saturday night.

DraftKings' total was on the move this morning, advancing from 55.5 to 56.5 and 57. The Over is seeing 64% of early tickets/81% of early money. If you'd like to try out DraftKings Sportsbook, here's our DraftKings promo code.
