  • Opening point spread: Florida State -13.5
  • Opening moneyline: Florida State -550/Georgia Tech +400
  • Opening total: Over/Under 55.5 points scored
  • Time: Noon ET Saturday (ESPN)

UPDATE 11 A.M. ET SATURDAY: An hour before kickoff, Florida State is laying 10.5 points in BetMGM's college football Week 0 odds market. Way back on May 27, the Seminoles opened -13.5, then nudged to -13 in late July.

By mid-August, Florida State was down to -11.5, and the line bottomed out Tuesday at the current -10.5.

"We're starting to get a little more lopsided on Florida State at -10.5. However, it's nothing sharp enough to push us away from that number at the moment," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.

So what's the ideal outcome?

"Georgia Tech +10.5. And Georgia Tech outright would kill every parlay," Magee said.

The total opened at 55.5, peaked at 56.5 early this month, bottomed out at 54.5 Thursday and is now 55.5 (Under -115). Magee said BetMGM is seeing Under money, but there's no real need on the total.

UPDATE 7 P.M. ET FRIDAY: With 17 hours until kickoff in Dublin, ESPN Bet has the Seminoles as 10.5-point favorites. Florida State vs Georgia Tech odds opened months ago at Seminoles -10.5, and the 'Noles stretched out to -13.5.

But Yellow Jackets action has helped reel in the line. Still, Florida State is taking 74% of spread bets/68% of spread dollars.

ESPN Bet's total is out to 55.5 from a 52.5 opener. However, the Under is landing 56% of bets/65% of money.

UPDATE 3 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Back in late May, The SuperBook opened Florida State as 13.5-point chalk for the first game of the 2024 season. Three days out, the Seminoles are down to -10.5 in Florida State vs Georgia Tech odds.

"And there are actually some 10s out there, too,'' SuperBook senior risk supervisor Casey Degnon said. "We've been slowly creeping down all summer. It's been somewhat steady action on the 'dog. Definitely the bulk of the money is on Georgia Tech, and there's slightly more tickets on Georgia Tech.

"Once we get closer to the weekend, we'll start to see more public play on Florida State. Maybe not straight bets on the spread, but in parlays and moneyline parlays."

The total opened at 56 in late June and spent time at 55.5 and 56.5 over the past two months. It's now 55.5 at The SuperBook.

"Slightly more tickets and money on the Under, but it's not a big decision right now," Degnon said.

UPDATE NOON ET MONDAY: This matchup has been on BetMGM's College Football Week 0 odds board since May 27. Florida State opened as a 13.5-point favorite, and the number didn't budge until nudging to -13 on July 26.

On Aug. 6, the Seminoles dipped to -12.5, and that was followed by a drop to -11.5 Wednesday. The line briefly touched 'Noles -10.5 Saturday before going to -11.5 (-105), where it sits now.

"Handle isn't too big right now. There's a lot more sharp money than there is recreational play. And all the sharp money has been on Georgia Tech," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.

And here's a little did-you-know nugget on this matchup: Former Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, who played for Oregon State last season, is now the Florida State starter.

The total saw a little back-and-forth in BetMGM's Florida State vs. Georgia Tech odds market. It opened at 55.5 on July 11, climbed to 56.5 on Aug. 6 and went to 55.5 (Over -115) Sunday.

It's now at 55.5 (Under -115), and Magee said there's no real decision yet.

The Seminoles went 13-1 SU/8-6 ATS last season. Florida State likely would've been in the College Football Playoff if not for QB Jordan Travis suffering a season-ending leg injury in Week 12. Instead, the shorthanded 'Noles got rolled by Georgia 63-3 as 23.5-point 'dogs in the Orange Bowl.

Georgia Tech went 7-6 SU/8-5 ATS last season. The Yellow Jackets capped the year with a 30-17 victory over Central Florida as 6-point underdogs in the Gasparilla Bowl.
