UPDATE 5 P.M. ET SATURDAY: With 2.5 hours until kickoff, the host Aggies are laying 3 points in The SuperBook's odds for Notre Dame vs Texas A&M. Back on May 26, this matchup opened at pick, and it stuck there until August.

A&M advanced to -1 on Aug. 5, -1.5 on Aug. 12, -2.5 on Aug. 16 and -3 on Tuesday. The line briefly receded to -2.5 Thursday afternoon, then returned to -3.

"Enough of the public and wiseguys are on Notre Dame that we'll need A&M," SuperBook risk supervisor Chase Michaelson said.

The SuperBook opened the total at 49, fell back to 47.5 early this month and bottomed out at 45.5 Thursday. But the number climbed back to 47.5 by early this morning. However, Michaelson said there's not much of a decision on the total yet.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET FRIDAY: TwinSpires Sportsbook opened Texas A&M -2.5 on Aug. 20, and the line has since toggled between -2.5/-3. The Aggies are now -3 in Notre Dame vs Texas A&M odds.

The Fighting Irish are drawing 60% of early spread tickets/62% of early spread money. Further, moneyline bettors favor Notre Dame, at 66% of tickets/72% of money.

"Notre Dame is a trendy 'dog in this matchup. It's Pros vs. Joes, with Joes on the Irish. As of now, we’ll need A&M to cover the field goal," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said.

The total is up a tick at TwinSpires, from 46.5 to 47. The Over is seeing 59% of early tickets/64% of early dollars.

UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET TUESDAY: Notre Dame won its first four games last season. But two losses in the subsequent three games – vs. Ohio State and at Louisville – derailed any CFP chances. The Fighting Irish capped the year with a 40-8 rout of Oregon State as 5.5-point Sun Bowl favorites.

Notre Dame finished 10-3 SU and ATS, posting one of the best spread-covering marks in the nation.

Texas A&M went a middling 7-6 SU/5-7-1 ATS last season. The Aggies finished up in the not-so-glamorous Tax Act Bowl, losing to Oklahoma State 31-23 as 3.5-point underdogs.

Expectations are much higher in College Station this season. But A&M has a tough schedule. Along with the Aggies' opener, they have home games against No. 11 Missouri, No. 13 LSU and No. 4 Texas.

BetMGM opened Notre Dame vs Texas A&M odds back on May 27, with the Aggies a 1-point favorite. On July 14, the line made the modest fence-jumping move to Fighting Irish -1.

But it's moved toward A&M throughout this month, to Aggies -1/-1.5/-2.5, and it's now at -3 (-105). That's despite the bulk of action landing on the Irish.

"It's mostly Notre Dame moneyline and Notre Dame +3 coming our way at the moment," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "The total has been bet down to 46.5, and it's still mostly Under action coming in."

The moneyline, which opened at pick, is now A&M -150/Notre Dame +120. The total opened at 49.5 and went to 48.5/47.5 on Aug. 5. A day later, it dipped to 46.5 (Over -115), then on Aug. 12 adjusted to 46.5 flat.
