2025 College Football Odds for Week 1
TCU vs. North Carolina Odds
Matchup | Spread | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
North Carolina vs
TCU | +3.5 (-108)
-3.5 (-112) | o54.5 (-118)
u54.5 (-102) | +150 -180 |
- Opening point spread: North Carolina -1.5
- Opening moneyline: North Carolina -118/TCU -102
- Opening total: Over/Under 59.5 points scored
- Time: 8 p.m. ET Monday (ESPN)
UPDATE 7:45 P.M. ET MONDAY: As kickoff approaches, The SuperBook has TCU -3.5, which is where the line has been for a couple weeks. In late June, the Horned Frogs opened -2.5, and the spread went to -3 in mid-July.
The last move, from TCU -3 to -3.5, came on Aug. 18.
"Ticket count is about split, but there's more money on TCU. On the moneyline, it's about 2/1 both tickets and money in favor of the underdog Tar Heels," SuperBook risk manager Casey Degnon said. "Including parlays, our best outcome right now is an upset UNC win with the Over."
The SuperBook opened the total at 58.5, and all the movement has come in the past week. Last Monday saw dips to 56.5/56, and by late this afternoon, the number bottomed out at 53. However, it quickly rebounded and is now at 54.5 as kickoff approaches.
Ticket count is 2/1 on the Under, and the Under has slightly more money than the Over.
UPDATE 11:30 A.M. ET MONDAY: With kickoff 8.5 hours away, TCU is laying 3.5 points in DraftKings Sportsbook's college football odds Week 1 market. Back on May 23, this Big 12-ACC contest opened with North Carolina 1.5-point home chalk, so there's been a 5-point line move.
That said, the line has been fairly stable the past month, with TCU mostly at various iterations of -3.5, save for literally a minute at -3 (-115) on Aug. 14. Action is solid two-way on the spread, with the Tar Heels taking 58% of bets/51% of money.
The moneyline is more in favor of Carolina, at 62% of bets/68% of cash.
DK opened the total at 59.5, and like many Week 1 numbers, it's seen a significant drop. In just the past week, it's gone from 58.5 to 54.5, with stops at 57.5/56.5/55.5. The final move came this morning, from 55.5 to 54.5.
The Under is attracting 71% of bets/73% of money.
UPDATE 8 P.M. ET TUESDAY: In a Monday night game that wraps up the college football odds Week 1 market, BetMGM has TCU at -3.5 (-102). That's a flip from where most sportsbooks started months ago, with North Carolina a favorite of -1.5 to -2.5.
In digital wagering (online/mobile) at BetMGM, spread ticket count is almost dead even, with the slightest lean toward North Carolina. However, 64% of early spread dollars are on TCU. On the moneyline, it's 81% of tickets on the Tar Heels/57% of cash on the Horned Frogs.
The total came down over the past week, from 58.5 to 56.5 (Under -115). Ticket count is 4/1 on the Under, and practically all the early money is on the Under, as well.
UPDATE 7:30 P.M. ET MONDAY, AUG. 18: A couple months back, TCU landed on Borgata Sports' college football Week 1 odds board as 1.5-point road chalk.
"This has been an interesting one, with all the storylines surrounding North Carolina this offseason," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said, alluding to intrigue around new coach Bill Belichick. "Bettors have been fading the Tar Heels in futures, and this game tells a similar story.
"TCU is now up to -3 and may get to -3.5 soon. It's been a steady stream of TCU money."
The total is steady at 58.5.
UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY, AUG. 15: It's the much-anticipated debut of Bill Belichick as North Carolina coach. Last year, the Tar Heels were 6-7 SU and among the worst spread-covering outfits in the nation at 2-10-1 ATS.
The season ended with a thud, as UNC fell to UConn 27-14 laying 2 points in the Fenway Bowl.
TCU is coming off a solid campaign on the field, at 9-4 SU, and a middling effort at the betting window, at 6-7 ATS. The Horned Frogs finished with a 34-3 blowout win laying 9.5 points vs. Louisiana in the New Mexico Bowl.
Carolina's win total is 7.5 and TCU's is 6.5.
DraftKings opened North Carolina -1.5 for the final game on the college football Week 1 odds board. But by June 9, the line jumped the fence to TCU -1.5, and the Horned Frogs are now -3.5 (-105) on the road. North Carolina is taking 61% of bets, but 80% of money is on TCU.
It's two-way play on the moneyline, at 55% bets TCU/58% money UNC.
The total opened at 59.5 and didn't move until going to 58.5 Aug. 5. It's now at 58.5 (Under -115), with 71% of bets/86% of money on the Under.

UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: An hour before kickoff, Borgata Sports has Notre Dame -3, on a line that's toggled between -2.5/-3.
"As you would expect, there is definitely Miami money out there to grab +3," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "A Miami cover would probably be good here, considering all the parlays that run through Notre Dame.
"Miami outright would be even better."
The total opened at 53.5 and bottomed out at 49.5 in early August. As kickoff approaches, the number has rebounded to 51.
"There has definitely been some buyback on the Over," Gable said, while noting the total is not much of a decision for the Atlantic City BetMGM property.
UPDATE 11:30 A.M. ET SUNDAY: With eight hours until kickoff, Notre Dame is -2.5 (-115) in BetMGM's Week 1 college football odds. The Fighting Irish opened -1.5 months ago and peaked at -3, where they actually sat earlier this morning.
Spread play is solidly on the Irish, with ticket count almost 3/1 and money 2/1. Moneyline action is more balanced for this meeting of top-10 teams, with 51% of tickets/59% of money on Notre Dame.
BetMGM opened the total 53.5 and is down to 50.5. Bettors are leaning toward the Under, at 66% of tickets/60% of money.
UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: ESPNBET has Notre Dame -2.5 (-115), on a number that's been at some iteration of Fighting Irish -2.5 throughout in the college football Week 1 odds market.
Early spread play is solidly on Notre Dame, with ticket count 4/1 and money beyond 2/1. Further, moneyline play is on the Fighting Irish, with tickets 3/1-plus and money 4/1.
ESPNBET's total opened at 53.5 and dropped as low as 49.5, then today went up a point to 50.5. The Under is netting 54% of bets/88% of cash.
UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: Notre Dame is at -2.5 (105) in BetMGM's college football odds Week 1 market. That's up a point from the opener of Fighting Irish -1.5.
And Notre Dame is quite popular with early spread bettors, attracting 87% of tickets/92% of money.
The total has been a more notable mover, down to 49.5 from a 53.5 opener at BetMGM. The Under is taking 73% of tickets/70% of dollars so far.
UPDATE 7:30 P.M. ET MONDAY, AUG. 18: Notre Dame is up to -2.5 in Borgata's college football Week 1 odds.
"Early money laid the opening 1.5 with Notre Dame, and now it’s been toggling between -2 and -2.5," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "This has been one of the more heavily bet games of Week 1 thus far and should have great handle by kickoff, with it being a standalone game on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend."
Gable noted this is another matchup with a sizable downward move on the total, from 53.5 to 49.5.

UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY, AUG. 15: Notre Dame made a run to the College Football Playoff championship game last season. But the Fighting Irish didn't have enough for Ohio State, losing 34-23 as 8-point 'dogs in the final.
Still, the Irish finished a solid 14-2 SU and were one of the best spread-covering outfits in the nation at 13-3 ATS.
Miami looked likely to win the ACC and get CFP bid until two surprising late-season losses, at Georgia Tech and at Syracuse. So the Hurricanes didn't even reach the ACC final. In the Pop-Tarts Bowl, the Canes fell to Iowa State 42-41 as 5.5-point favorites to finish 10-3 SU/6-7 ATS.
On May 23, DraftKings opened Notre Dame -2.5 in the college football odds Week 1 market. The Irish moved to -3 (-105) on June 27, dipped to -2.5 July 25 and went to -2.5 (-105) Aug. 7.
Notre Dame is now -2.5 (-112). That said, it's all Irish in early spread play, with ticket count almost 8/1 and money 9/1.
The total opened is down to 50.5 (Under -115), from a 54.5 flat opener. Much of the movement came from Aug. 9-11, when the number ran through 53.5/52.5/51.5 on the way to 50.5 (Over -112). The Under is landing 56% of tickets and practically all the money so far.
LSU vs. Clemson Odds
Matchup | Spread | Total | Moneyline |

Clemson vs
LSU | -5.5 (-120)
+5.5 (-110) | o55.5 (-108)
u55.5 (-120) | -245 +185 |
- Opening point spread: Clemson -3
- Opening moneyline: Clemson -142/LSU +120
- Opening total: Over/Under 56.5 points scored
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday, Aug. 30 (ABC)
UPDATE 6:15 P.M. ET SATURDAY: With 75 minutes until kickoff, Clemson is laying 4.5 points at home in BetMGM's college football odds Week 1 market. Clemson opened -3 and this morning was at -4.
That said, there's two-way play on this SEC-ACC showdown.
"Action is starting to become a lot more balanced. The best result for the book is Clemson wins and LSU covers +4," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
The total opened at 56.5, it was at 56.5 this morning and it's at 56.5 now. Magee said there's no real decision on the total.
UPDATE 8:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: Clemson is 4.5-point home chalk at ESPNBET, after opening -2.5 and spending time at -3.5. That said, road 'dog LSU is seeing 55% of early spread bets/64% of early spread dollars.
The total opened at 56.5 and is now 57.5 (Under -115), with 60% of bets/77% of cash on the Over.
UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: Clemson hit BetMGM's Week 1 college football odds as a 3-point home favorite, and the Tigers are up to -4. That said, it's road underdog LSU getting the majority of action for this SEC-ACC Saturday night showdown.
The Tigers are taking 61% of spread bets/59% of spread money in the early going. Moneyline bettors are also leaning toward LSU, at 77% of bets/63% of money.
BetMGM's total is at 57.5, up from the 56.5 opener. The Under is landing 54% of early bets, while 63% of early cash is on the Over.
UPDATE 12:30 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY, AUG. 20: After opening Clemson -3, Borgata Sports has seen the favorite move up a couple ticks in its college football odds Week 1 market.
"Early money laid the 3 and it’s now Clemson -3.5," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said Monday, a day before the line advanced to -4. "Clemson has been one of the most popular teams in terms of futures with bettors this offseason. The Tigers opened 20/1 for the national title and are now down to 9/1.
"So I'm not surprised to see them getting bet in the season opener."
Borgata's total is up to 57.5 from a 56.5 opener.
UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY, AUG. 15: It's an SEC-ACC showdown that could have long-term ramifications for both teams. LSU and Clemson are both among the top 10 in College Football Playoff futures odds.
Clemson is coming off a 10-4 SU/6-7 ATS campaign, earning a CFP bid as the ACC champion. But the Tigers had a short stay in the first 12-team playoff, losing to Texas 38-24 as 13.5-point road underdogs in the first round.
LSU got out to a 6-1 SU start last season and had a path to the SEC championship game and perhaps the CFP. However, the Tigers then had an ill-timed three-game slide, at Texas A&M, home vs. Alabama and at Florida.
LSU finished the year with a 44-31 Texas Bowl win over Baylor, cashing as a 3.5-point pup to finish 9-4 SU/5-8 ATS.
Clemson has been a popular CFP futures play in the offseason, and early indications showed Dabo Swinney's troops were popular in the season opener, as well. DraftKings opened Clemson -3 and got as high as -4.5 Aug. 6, but the line is now down to Clemson -3.5.
It's two-way spread play so far, with 52% of bets on Clemson/55% of money on road underdog LSU. Early moneyline action leans toward LSU, at 54% of bets/57% of cash.
The total opened at 56.5 and has been at 57.5 (Under -115) since Aug. 6. The Under is netting 55% of early bets, but 88% of money is on the Over.
Alabama vs. Florida State Odds
Matchup | Spread | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Florida State vs
Alabama | +13.5 (-115)
-13.5 (-115) | o47.5 (-110)
u47.5 (-120) | +350 -550 |
- Opening point spread: Alabama -12.5
- Opening moneyline: Alabama -470/Florida State +360
- Opening total: Over/Under 50.5 points scored
- Time: 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday, Aug. 30 (ABC)
UPDATE 2 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Alabama is up to 14-point chalk in BetMGM's college football Week 1 odds. That's after opening months ago as a 12.5-point favorite.
In digital wagering (online/mobile) at BetMGM, it's been all Crimson Tide, at 76% of tickets/87% of money. And you can bet that 'Bama is seen as a free Bingo space on moneyline parlays today.
"It's one-way traffic on the Tide. We're going to need Florida State to cover +14," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
The total opened at 50.5 and was at 49.5 this morning. Now it's down another point to 48.5. However, Magee said BetMGM doesn't have much of a need on the total.
UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET THURSDAY: It's worth noting that ESPNBET first posted Week 1 college football odds in February. Back then, Alabama opened -8.5, and the line was already in the -12.5/-13 range by late May.
Now, the Crimson Tide are at -13.5 (-120), knocking on the door of being two-touchdown favorites. And it's all Bama on the spread, with ticket count 5/1 and money almost 9/1.
The total opened at 51.5 and this morning was at 50.5. It's now at 49.5 (Over -120), with 78% of tickets on the Under, but 75% of money on the Over.
UPDATE 2:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: Five days out from this SEC-ACC contest, Alabama is 13.5-point road chalk in BetMGM's college football odds Week 1 market. That's up a point from the Tide -12.5 opener.
And early spread play is all 'Bama, with tickets running 6/1-plus and money beyond 9/1. In fact, Alabama is BetMGM's most-bet team by money count in all of Week 1.
The total is at 50.5, exactly where it opened months ago. The Over is seeing 62% of early tickets/54% of early money.
UPDATE 7:30 P.M. ET MONDAY, AUG. 18: Alabama is up to -13.5 from a -12.5 opener at Borgata Sports.
"Not much written on this game yet. A little bit of 'Bama money, but nothing significant. No change in the total at all," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said, noting the total remains 50.5.
UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY, AUG. 15: In a rarity, Alabama actually missed the College Football Playoff last season. In the regular season, the Crimson Tide went 9-3 SU/7-5 ATS, not even reaching the SEC title game in their first year post-Nick Saban.
Rather, the Tide faced Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl, losing 19-13 as hefty 16.5-point favorites.
Florida State is coming off one of the worst years in program history, at 2-10 SU/3-8-1 ATS. The humiliation was complete with a 31-11 home loss catching 16.5 points against Florida in the regular-season finale.
However, oddsmakers expect at least somewhat of a turnaround this season. The Seminoles' win total is 6.5 or 7.5, depending on the book.
Still, Alabama is among the national championship favorites. As such, the Tide opened as 12.5-point road favorites in DraftKings' college football Week 1 odds. Alabama climbed to -13.5 (-115) on July 24, then returned to -12.5 on Aug. 5.
On Aug. 11, 'Bama went to -13.5 (-105), and the Tide are now at -13.5 flat. It's all Alabama in early spread play, at 84% of tickets/92% of money.
The total is stable at 50.5, although 84% of early bets/91% of early dollars are on the Over.

UPDATE 11:30 A.M. ET SATURDAY: After a day or two where multiple sportsbooks moved Texas to a short favorite, Ohio State is now once again favored at home. Throughout this morning, BetMGM has been at Buckeyes -1.5 (-105) in the college football odds Week 1 market.
That's down from the opener of Ohio State -3, and Texas was briefly a favorite this morning, at -1.5 (-102). Point-spread tickets are running almost dead even, but 66% of spread money is on the visiting Longhorns.
In fact, on straight bets, Texas is No. 1 in spread tickets and spread money among every team playing this weekend. On the moneyline, Texas is seeing 62% of tickets/57% of money. And it's likely the Longhorns are in a lot of parlays/moneyline parlays.
"Ohio State is the need of the day. We need the Buckeyes outright," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
BetMGM opened the total at 50.5 and is down to 47. The Under is seeing 56% of tickets/63% of money.
UPDATE 8 P.M. ET THURSDAY: As the weekend nears, the big money comes to Vegas. Circa Sports proved that fact once again this afternoon.
Circa owner Derek Stevens, speaking to host Tim Murray on VSIN this evening, said his book took a $550,000 bet on Texas +1. That led Circa oddsmakers to move this line from Ohio State -1 to Texas -1 in Week 1 college football odds.
"I was sitting at my desk and saw it come across the ticker. It was pretty straightforward: $550,000 on Texas +1," Stevens told Murray. "So now we've got Texas as a 1 [point favorite], looking for some buyback."
At the moment, Circa is the only sportsbook in the nation with Texas as the favorite.
UPDATE 5 P.M. ET THURSDAY: No surprise, this major matchup is taking the most money of any game on ESPNBET's college football odds Week 1 board. Ohio State opened -3 and is down to -1.5 (-105) on two-way play, with Texas landing 54% of bets/53% of money.
Moneyline action is more pronounced on the Longhorns, at 65% of bets/73% of money.
ESPNBET's total is down to 47.5 (Under -120) from a 51.5 opener. The Under is seeing 58% of bets, while 63% of cash is on the Over.
UPDATE 7:30 P.M. ET SATURDAY: A week out from this massive showdown in Columbus, the Buckeyes are laying 1.5 points in DraftKings Sportsbook's college football Week 1 odds. Ohio State opened -3 May 23, went to -2.5 earlier this month and dipped to -1.5 Thursday.
So far, it's two-way spread play with a lean toward top-ranked Texas, at 53% of tickets/59% of money. Moneyline play is a bit more pronounced on the short underdog Longhorns, at 68% of tickets/74% of money.
No surprise, this massive matchup is the most-bet game, by ticket count, of any Week 1 contest.
The total opened at 50.5, and all the movement came in the first half of August, with the number toggling between 48.5/47.5. It's now at 47.5, with 76% of tickets on the Over/56% of money on the Under.
UPDATE 7:30 P.M. ET MONDAY, AUG. 18: Ohio State opened as 3-point chalk in Borgata Sports' Week 1 college football odds.
"It has since moved to 2.5, with bettors taking the 3 with Texas," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "It's the marquee game of Week 1, which should attract the most handle of all of the games on the board.
"The total has been the big mover in this one, dropping from an opener of 50 to 47.5, with a lot of Under money."
UPDATE FRIDAY, AUG. 15: Ohio State went 14-2 SU/10-6 ATS last season, capped by a 4-0 SU and ATS run through the first 12-team College Football Playoff. In the national title game, the Buckeyes topped Notre Dame 34-23 as 8-point favorites.
Texas enters 2025 off a 13-3 SU/8-8 ATS campaign that also included a CFP berth. But it was Ohio State that ended the Longhorns' season, with Texas dealt a 28-14 loss catching 4.5 points in the semifinals.
Multiple sportsbooks have Texas – led by Heisman Trophy favorite Arch Manning – and Ohio State as co-favorites in College Football Playoff championship odds.
For this massive season opener, DraftKings opened the Buckeyes -3 in the college football Week 1 odds market. The line stuck at 3 much of the summer, then went to Ohio State -2.5 (-115) on Aug. 5.
Now, it's Buckeyes -2.5 flat, with the Longhorns landing 52% of early spread tickets/64% of early spread money.
The total opened at 50.5, bottomed out at 47.5 a couple times this month and is now 48.5. The Over is seeing 73% of tickets, while 69% of money is on the Under in early action.
Stanford vs. Hawaii Odds
Matchup | Spread | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Hawai'i vs
Stanford | -2.5 (-108)
+2.5 (-112) | o49.5 (-115)
u49.5 (-105) | -125 +105 |
- Opening point spread: Stanford -2.5
- Opening moneyline: Stanford -130/Hawaii +110
- Opening total: Over/Under 55.5 points scored
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday, Aug. 23 (CBS)
UPDATE 6 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Ninety minutes pre-kick, Hawaii is -2.5 (-105) in BetMGM's college football odds Week 1 market. That's a flip from when this game opened back in May, with Stanford a 2.5-point favorite.
The line jumped the fence in July, with the Rainbow Warriors getting the bulk of early attention. On game day, the Warriors remain popular.
"It's been rock-solid Hawaii money all day. We're gonna need Stanford to keep this within the number. Sharps and public are on Hawaii," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
The total is down to 50.5 from a 55.5 opener.
UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Hawaii heads into the weekend as a 2.5-point favorite in DraftKings' college football Week 1 odds. That's a flip from the opening number of Stanford -2.5 back in May.
The line jumped the fence from Stanford -1.5 to Hawaii -1.5 on July 24, and it's been at some iteration of Hawaii -2.5 since Aug. 8. Spread tickets are running almost dead even, but 86% of spread money is on the host Rainbow Warriors.
DraftKings' total is now down to 50.5 from a 55.5 opener. The Over is netting 65% of tickets, but 74% of cash is on the Under.
UPDATE 7:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: Borgata Sports opened Stanford -2.5, but the line jumped the fence and is now Hawaii -2.5 in the college football odds Week 1 market.
"We’ve seen a decent amount of line movement in this one," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Early money was on Hawaii. We are finally starting to see some buyback on Stanford at +2.5. My guess is that this will close with Hawaii between a 1.5- and 2.5-point favorite."
The total tumbled from 56.5 to 52.5 at Borgata.
"All money has thus far been on the Under," Gable said.
UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY, AUG. 15: This matchup wouldn't normally qualify among the biggest games of any week. But as the final game of an abbreviated Saturday schedule (five matchups), and with interest always high in Hawaii games that close out the day, it's worth a look.
Last year was Stanford's first in the ACC, after the Pac-12 was virtually blown up. And it wasn't a good season for the Cardinal, at 3-9 SU/4-7-1 ATS. After a 2-1 SU start, Stanford lost six in a row as part of a 1-8 SU slide overall.
Hawaii didn't fare much better in 2024, going 5-7 SU/6-5-1 ATS. But the Rainbow Warriors finished on an upswing, going 3-2 SU/4-1 ATS in their final five games.
Hawaii's Over/Under in season win totals is 5.5, while Stanford's is 3.5.
DraftKings opened Stanford as 2.5-point road chalk in Week 1 college football odds. The Cardinal were at various iterations of -1.5 starting in mid-July, but are now at -2.5 (-102). Point-spread play is interesting, with 64% of bets on Stanford/75% of dollars on Hawaii.
Moneyline splits are similar, at 63% of bets on Stanford/78% of money on Hawaii.
The total has been a little more active, opening at 55.5 and briefly jumping to 57.5 July 14, before going back to 55.5. On July 24, the number went to 54.5, and a day later dipped to 53.5. Now, it's at 52.5 flat, 57% of tickets on the Over, but a lopsided 94% of money on the Under.

UPDATE 10:30 A.M. ET SATURDAY: Ninety minutes pre-kick, BetMGM has Kansas State at -3 (-115) in college football Week 1 odds. That's down a tick from the Wildcats -3.5 opener months ago, but the favorite is popular today for a game in Dublin, Ireland.
In digital betting (mobile/online) at BetMGM, spread tickets are almost 3/1 and spread money 4/1 on K-State. And of the five games kicking off the season today, Kansas State spread is taking the most bets.
"We're going to need Iowa State, by the looks of it. There's plenty of interest in K-State," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "We also wouldn't hate seeing this game stay Under 50.5. A lot of people are backing the Over today."
The total opened at 49.5. In digital action, it's 2/1 tickets and almost 5/1 money on the Over at BetMGM.
UPDATE 1:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Less than 24 hours before kickoff, Kansas State is -3 (-115) in DraftKings Sportsbook's college football odds Week 1 market. Over the past week, the line has mostly been some iteration of Wildcats -3.5, after opening -3.5 May 23 and peaking at -4 Aug. 13.
A week ago, it was two-way spread play at DraftKings. Now, spread tickets are just shy of 2/1 and spread money just beyond 2/1 on K-State.
The total was at 49.5 much of the summer, then went to 50.5 Wednesday. Ticket count is 2/1 and money almost 4/1 on the Over.
UPDATE 7:30 P.M. ET MONDAY: Kansas State has fluctuated between the -3.5/-3 since opening in early June at Borgata Sports, a BetMGM property in Atlantic City. The Wildcats are now -3 in college football Week 1 odds.
"We did see some Iowa State money at +3.5," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said tonight. "The spread here will probably continue to bounce between 3 and 3.5. But as is the case with all of these games, even though they have been up for months, 98% of handle will come between now and game day."
Borgata opened the total at 49.5 and remains there.
UPDATE 6:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY, AUG. 15: A Big 12 matchup kicks off the entire 2024-25 college football season. And it's a long road trip for both teams, taking place in Dublin, Ireland.
Iowa State is coming off a solid 11-3 SU campaign (7-5 ATS). The Cyclones capped the year with a shootout win over Miami, 42-41 as 5.5-point underdogs in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
But oddsmakers expect some regression this year, with Iowa State at 7.5 in season win totals.
Kansas State had a solid 2024 as well, going 9-4 SU. But the Wildcats consistently struggled to cover the number, at 4-9 ATS. In the Rate Bowl, K-State edged Rutgers 44-41, failing to cash as 7-point chalk.
Oddsmakers project a similar result for Kansas State this year, with a win total of 8.5.
DraftKings opened K-State -3.5 in college football Week 1 odds, way back on May 23. The number stuck at Wildcats -3.5 much of the summer, then went to Kansas State -3 (-115) on Aug. 5. K-State spent much of the past two weeks toggling between -3/-3.5 and briefly hit -4 a couple times.
Now, eight days out, it's Wildcats -3 (-115) again. And early action is solid two-way at DK, with 53% of tickets on Kansas State/54% of money on Iowa State. The moneyline is split, as well, with 53% of tickets/51% of cash on the Cyclones.
The total hasn't moved off 49.5, though unsurprisingly, the Over is getting the bulk of attention. Ticket count is 3/1 and money 2.5/1 on the Over.
