2022 Fresno State Bulldogs Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 FRESNO STATE BULLDOGS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

After stepping down in 2019, Head Coach Jeff Tedford is back in the driver's seat for the 2022 season with the departure of Kalen DeBoer to Washington. The Bulldogs finished 10-3 SU last season and have potential to win the Mountain West with a high-powered offense and experience returning on the defensive side of the ball. It will be no easy task as Fresno State has a tough road ahead, but anything less than an appearance in the Conference Championship game will be a letdown for the program.

The Bulldogs finished last season atop the Mountain West in total offense and second in scoring. To help continue that success is starting QB Jake Haener (4,096 YDS, 33 TD, 9 INT) who is the heart and soul of this offense. Haener will also get his top targets back in Jalen Cropper (85 REC, 899 YDS, 11 TD) and Josh Kelly (52 REC, 778 YDS, 3 TD). The running game was stellar as well last season and while star running back Ronnie Rivers is now in the NFL, Jordan Mims (127 ATT, 710 YDS, 6 TD) will take over as the starter. The defensive will also return talent including their four leading tacklers and All-Mountain West safety Evan Williams.

There is a particularly good chance this team ends up 10-2 SU this season and covers their win total of 8.5 (-125). There is also a good chance this team ends up 8-4 SU at the end of the season. Road games against USC and Boise State are tough and even winning one of those two games would be huge. Home matchups between Oregon State and San Diego State could be tricky as well. Of course, something could always go wrong, and upsets do happen. However, with Haener under center I like their chances to cover. Win total of over 8.5 is the best play here, but there is also value in backing the Bulldogs to win the Mountain West Championship as they should be the team to come out of the West division.

Best Bet: Over 8.5 Wins (-125)

FRESNO STATE BULLDOGS ODDS TO WIN MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP

+240

Fresno State has the second-best odds to win the Mountain West Championship behind Boise State. I expect the Bulldogs to be the team to come out the West division, so there is solid value in this bet. A half unit here would be my recommendation, but if you feel this is the Bulldogs year then not a bad play at all here.

FRESNO STATE BULLDOGS ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+40000

I do not think any team from the Mountain West will go undefeated this season and that is what it would take for a team from this conference to make it to the big game. Well, that and several other things but this is not a smart play here. Take your money and find a more realistic bet such as Jake Haener (+12500) to win the Heisman.

FRESNO STATE BULLDOGS 2022 HEISMAN CONTENDERS & ODDS

Jack Haener (QB) +12500

Haener finished last season as the first Fresno State player to pass for over 4,000 yards since Derrick Carr in 2013. Haener completed 67.1% of his passes for 4,096 yards, 33 TD, and 9 INT. A big game week three against USC will provide a bit more national spotlight for Haener and with an impressive outing who knows what could happen. He will need to have a huge year to remain in contention for the Heisman at the end of the season, but not a bad idea to put a small wager down here with how much juice it offers.
