2022 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 HAWAII RAINBOW WARRIORS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Rainbow Warriors enter a new era with Head Coach Tommy Chang entering his first season. Hawaii finished 6-7 SU last season, but enough allegations against former Head Coach Todd Graham caused a number of guys to leave the program via the transfer portal. On the flip side, Chang has brought in enough talent to continue the success of four straight seasons with six wins or more.

Not only does Hawaii have a new head coach but they also have a new offensive coordinator in Ian Shoemaker from Eastern Washington. Veteran QB Chevan Cordeiro is now at San Jose State so competing for the job will be last year's backup Brayden Schager, Cammon Cooper from Washington State, and Pittsburgh transfer Joey Yellen. Holes will need to be filled at the WR position as their top two receivers from last season are gone. They should be set at running back with Dedrick Parson (618 YDS, 8 TD) returning as the lead back. Hawaii’s defense will need to make adjustments as they were the worst defense in the Mountain West last season, allowing 446 yards and 32 points per game.

Hawaii needs one less win than they had last season to cover their win total of 4.5 this season. The Rainbow Warriors have a chance to start the season 3-1 SU with home games against Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky, and Duquesne. Three more home games against Nevada Wyoming, and UNLV later in the season are all winnable as well. Throw in a road game against New Mexico State and Hawaii is in excellent position to get at least five wins this season. I don’t expect them to compete for the Mountain West Championship this season so playing the over 4.5 wins (-125) is the best bet here.

Best Bet: Over 4.5 Wins (-125)

HAWAII RAINBOW WARRIORS ODDS TO WIN MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP

+5000

If things go perfectly for Hawaii, there is a sliver of hope they could find themselves in contention for a Mountain West Championship. While it is a longshot, their schedule does play in their favor. To start, all seven of their home games are winnable as opposing teams tend to not play well in Hawaii for whatever reason. Road games against Michigan, San Diego State, and Fresno State could all be losses but one or even two wins would be huge there. I wouldn’t put a full unit on this, but there could be some value if Chang finds a way to make this team click.

HAWAII RAINBOW WARRIORS ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+200000

As mentioned before, this team has potential to see a good amount of success this season but let's not get crazy. Week three against Michigan is almost a guaranteed loss and will eliminate any sliver of hope for the Rainbow Warriors to win a National Championship. Take your money elsewhere as this is not a smart play.
