2022 Missouri Tigers Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 MISSOURI TIGERS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

Missouri wasn't terrible in 2021, but it wasn't very good, either. The Tigers managed to go 6-6 in the regular season before falling to Army in the Armed Forces Bowl, 24-22.

It was a very mediocre season for Mizzou, as it was either one game under .500, one game over .500, or simply .500, at every point. Looking ahead to the schedule, we could see a similar situation play out in 2022, or the Tigers could even take a step back. The front end of the conference slate is brutal, and it's conceivable that this team starts out in an 0-3 hole during SEC play before relief in the form of Vanderbilt comes to town.

There is a lot of uncertainty under center, as Connor Bazelak moved along to Indiana this past offseason. The QB battle will be between incumbent Brady Cook, who was the quarterback of record in the Armed Forces Bowl game loss, with incoming transfer Jack Abraham, prospect Sam Horn and prospect Tyler Macon all vying for the eye of head coach Eliah Drinkwitz.

Whomever wins the starting job will have a cast of solid skill position players at his disposal. WRs Tauskie Dove and Dominic Lovett are solid, and Luther Burden is a highly-touted recruit which has the coaching staff in Columbia buzzing. The run game isn't as deep, losing all-everything Tyler Badie. Nathaniel Peat is considered the favorite to be the top dog in the backfield, but he is not necessarily anything special, and he'll be operating behind a rather shaky offensive line.

On defense, Missouri needs to be much better after finishing No. 13 in the SEC out of 14 teams. That simply won't do. DEs Trajan Jeffcoat and Isaiah McGuire aren't to blame, though. They're one of the better book end pass rushers in the league, but the linebackers and secondary are questionable at best, and will likely be this team's undoing.

MISSOURI TIGERS ODDS TO WIN SEC CHAMPIONSHIP

+25000

It would be a giant surprise if Mizzou is able to simply get to .500 when the dust settles after the regular season. This is a team battling for bowl eligibility, not an SEC Championship at this time. Don't waste your money.

MISSOURI TIGERS ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+50000

Again, the Tigers are mediocre at best, and it has a very suspect back end of the defense. This is a team which will top the teams they're supposed to, while losing every game when not favored. They won't be very good, and they're not championship caliber, or anything close to it.
