2022 Nevada Wolf Pack Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 NEVADA WOLF PACK BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

Following an impressive 8-5 SU 2021 season Nevada enters this season with a brand-new look. Not only did Head Coach Jay Norvell leave for Colorado State, but he also took a few key players with him. Ken Wilson will take over for Norvell as head coach and do the best he can with what he has to work with. In terms of returning starters the Wolf Pack will be one of the most inexperienced teams in the country.

QB Clay Millen was expected to take over Nevada’s offense this season but left for Colorado State with Coach Norvell. The position will either go to Nate Cox or Oklahoma State transfer Shane Illingworth. Nevada also lost four receivers to the transfer portal who combined for 285 catches, 2,300 yards, and 29 touchdowns. The Wolf Pack will bring WR BJ Casteel (33 catches, 326 YDS, 1 TD) from Arizona and TE Cooper Shults from Oregon to help fill the holes. Fifth year running back Toa Taua (150 ATT, 732 YDS, 6 TD) will return but will need help from an offensive line with just one starter returning from last season. The defense lost talent as well but have a veteran group of guys that could see success.

With Nevada’s win total set at five it will come down to one or two key games that will decide the outcome of this bet. I expect the Wolfpack to start the season 3-0 SU with games against New Mexico State, Texas State, and Incarnate Word. After those three games, I do not see Nevada having much success the remainder of the season. Their Home game against Colorado State and road game against UNLV are winnable, but all other games will be tough for Nevada to win. At best I think the Wolfpack win five games this season but even that may not happen. Best play here is backing Nevada under 5 wins (-105) as the Wolf Pack are not the same team they were last season.

Best Bet: Under 5 wins (-105)

NEVADA WOLF PACK ODDS TO WIN MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP

+3000

Nevada finished third in the Mountain division last season and will not have nearly as good of a team this year. Finding themselves in a bowl game at the end of the season would be a huge accomplishment for the Wolf Pack, so a Mountain West Championship is a bit of wishful thinking. If Jay Norvell were returning this bet would be a lot more realistic. However, with so many new pieces in place it will be tough for Nevada to be in contention, especially with Hawaii and San Jose State on the rise in the West division.

NEVADA WOLF PACK ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+150000

I expect Nevada to end up in one of the bottom two spots of the West division, so this is not a bet on my radar. On the off chance the Wolf Pack did manage to go undefeated this season, I am not sure their schedule offers enough strength to put them in the conversation. Stay away from this one as there are much better Mountain West bets that offer more value.

NEVADA WOLF PACK 2022 HEISMAN CONTENDERS & ODDS
