Air Force Falcons vs. Wyoming Cowboys Picks, Predictions, Odds
The Air Force Falcons and Wyoming Cowboys open conference play Friday at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, Wyoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET, and the game can be viewed on CBS Sports Network.
AIR FORCE FALCONS vs. WYOMING COWBOYS BETTING PREDICTION
The Falcons have yet to be tested through two outings, winning by 31 points in each game. Air Force picked up a 48-17 win against Northern Iowa of the FCS in the opener, covering a 15-point number, while blasting fellow Rocky Mountain State rival Colorado by a 41-10 count last weekend. The OVER has connected in each game for USAFA.
It's the same as it ever was for Air Force, too. It leads the nation with 589.0 total yards per game, while also leading the country with a ridiculous 530.5 rushing yards while scoring 44.5 PPG. It will be quite the test for the Wyoming defense, which has allowed 112.0 yards per game to rank 50th overall.
The Cowboys have been a little inconsistent. Wyoming was a complete mess in the opener at Illinois in Week 0, getting blasting 38-6 as a 14-point 'dog. It bounced back with a miraculous 40-37 win in overtime against Tulsa, while sneaking by Northern Colorado of the FCS in a 33-10 win, barely missing a cover as 23.5-point favorite.
Score Prediction: Air Force 34, Wyoming 17
Best Bet: Air Force -14.5 (-110)
Best Bet: OVER 46.5 (-108)

AIR FORCE FALCONS BETTING ANALYSIS
The formula has been the same in the Springs for decades - run the ball. Run it some more. And then run it some more.
Beating UNI in the opener, an FCS opponent, isn't that exciting. However, topping a Power 5 team, even a lower-echelon Pac-12 team, by 31 points, is impressive any way you slice it. Air Force posted 25 first downs to just eight first downs for Colorado. The defense might have been more impressive than the offense, really. Colorado was limited to just 51 passing yards, while Air Force managed just eight yards through the air. If you like running, the Colorado-Air Force game was for you. Air Force rolled up 479 rushing yards on 65 attempts, averaging 7.4 yards per run.
Brad Roberts leads the charge with 288 rushing yards and four scores, averaging 9.0 yards per attempt, while QB Haaziq Daniels has ran for 136 yards and two scores, while passing for 117 yards and a TD. John Lee Eldridge III has also chimed in with 173 yards and a score, averaging 10.8 yards per rushing attempt.
Air Force has cashed in six straight games dating back to last season, including each of its outings in 2022. The Falcons have also cashed in six straight games on the road, while going 6-1 ATS in the past seven Mountain West battles. If there is any reason for doubt, Air Force has failed to cover in five straight games on a field-turf condition.
As far as totals are concerned, the OVER has cashed in six straight games overall, while going 4-1 in the past five road outings. In this series, the UNDER is 11-3 in the past 14 meetings, however, and Air Force has failed to cover five straight trips to Laramie, while going 2-10 ATS in the past 12 meetings overall.
WYOMING COWBOYS BETTING ANALYSIS
The Cowboys trail 30-26-3 in the all-time series, including each of the previous two meetings. Wyoming fell in Colorado Springs last Oct. 9 by a 24-14 score, while losing 20-6 in the previous meeting on Nov. 30, 2019. The last time Wyoming won was its most recent home meeting against Air Force, 35-27 on Nov. 17, 2018.
Wyoming has managed a 6-2-1 ATS mark in the past nine games against winning teams, while covering each of their past six appearances on a Friday. However, Wyoming has started slow, going 9-19-1 ATS in the past 29 appearances in the month of September.
In terms of the totals, the OVER is 5-1 in the past six games overall dating back to last season, with that lone UNDER result last week against Northern Colorado. The UNDER is 4-1 in Wyoming's past five tries against teams with a winning record, however.
