Ryder Cup odds were all the rage over the weekend, with the international team event back in play. The 2025 Ryder Cup took place on the famed Bethpage Black course in Farmingdale, N.Y.

Heading into Sunday's 12 singles matches, it looked like it was all over but the crying. Europe led Team USA 11.5-4.5. But the U.S. made a gutty huge comeback and nearly stole the trophy, falling just short 15-13.

POST-DAY 3 UPDATE: Team USA nearly pulled off a comeback for the ages. Singles match after singles match fell in the Americans' favor. Europe only needed 2.5 points on the final day to retain the trophy, but crawled there a half-point at a time by tying matches.

Ultimately, Shane Lowry got Europe from 13.5 to 14 points. With Europe the defending champion, that was all it needed to clinch a tie and keep the trophy it won in 2023. By day's end, the U.S. won the singles matches 8.5-3.5, nearly stealing the trophy in the process.

The American squad entered Sunday as a massive +6000 underdog at FanDuel Sportsbook. At one point, the U.S. got as short as +1200. That's still a healthy 'dog, but considering where the team was, that shift was impressive.

Bryson DeChambeau exemplified the comeback as much as any other team member. Through seven holes, DeChambeau was already 5 down to Matt Fitzpatrick. But he rallied to catch Fitzpatrick on No. 17 and ultimately got the U.S. a half-point.

Ryder Cup Betting History

The Ryder Cup is a golf event that features teams from the United States and Europe, going head-to-head over a three-day period. Each team consists of 12 golfers. Those golfers are selected to the team first on rankings, then on captain's picks.

The golfers from each team compete against one another in eight foursome matches, eight fourball matches and 12 single matches. Each match is worth one point, and if a match ends up tied, then both teams are awarded a half-point.

The first team to earn 14½ points wins the Ryder Cup. If both teams are tied after all the matches are played, then the team that won the previous Ryder Cup retains the trophy.

The USA is 27-15 in the Ryder Cup.
