2023 MLB All-Star Game Betting Odds & Analysis
The 2023 MLB All-Star Game is set for Tuesday, July 11 as the National League and American League square off in the 93rd annual Midsummer Classic at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Coverage begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
Let’s dive into the betting odds and rosters for this year’s MLB All-Star Game. Odds provided by bet365.
2023 MLB All-Star Game Betting Odds
Moneyline | Spread | Total | |
National League | -105 | +1.5 (-220) | O 7.5 (+100) |
American League | -115 | -1.5 (+180) | U 7.5 (-120) |
The American League has won nine straight All-Star Games.
The NL’s most recent victory over the AL came all the way back in 2012 – for a frame of reference, that was a contest in which knuckleballer R.A. Dickey pitched in as a representative for the Mets.
However, the oddsmakers don’t seem overly concerned about the AL’s near decade-long win streak as the National League enters this year’s Midsummer Classic as very slim -105 underdogs – while the American League opens as short favorites at -115.
The total is stationed at OU 7.5.
Five of the last six All-Star Games have stayed under that number – with the lone exception to that claim coming in an 8-6 slugfest back in 2018.

So, which side is going to come out on top? Hitting or pitching?
The American League has the upper-hand in the pitching department despite Shohei Ohtani likely not taking the mound due to a finger blister, as the AL will rotate through an incredibly deep stable of arms containing Gerrit Cole, Luis Castillo, Kevin Gausman, Framber Valdez, and others.
However, with Mike Trout and Aaron Judge sidelined for the AL, the National League has the much stronger batting lineup – highlighted by names such as Ronald Acuna Jr., Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Luis Arraez, with no notable injuries to their starting-nine.
The NL’s pitching staff is a different story, though. Zac Gallen was the lead vote-getter, and he’s good to go for Tuesday’s Midsummer Classic – but prepare for a semi-steep drop off after that.
Clayton Kershaw, Spencer Strider, Marcus Stroman, and Bryce Elder were all named All-Stars in the pitching department for the NL – and none of them will participate in Tuesday’s event.
Push comes to shove, great pitching usually beats great hitting – and in this case, the team with the “great pitching” has won nine straight All-Star Games. So, the choice seems rather simple.
But as you already know, the MLB All-Star Game is an exhibition game with relatively low stakes, and fluky things are bound to happen – so, tread with caution.
