See All

Eugenio Suarez  to Hit a Home Run (+310 | FanDuel) vs. (SP: Colton Gordon)

For our first pick, we’re going with one of the biggest names being floated around the upcoming MLB trade deadline: Eugenio Suarez.

Suarez is enjoying a career year of sorts with 35 home runs and a league-leading 85 RBIs. It hasn’t mattered whether Suarez has faced right-handed or left-handed pitchers; he has torn the cover off the baseball. According to Baseball Savant, Suarez is in the 87th percentile or higher in regards to xSLG, Barrel %, and Hard Hit %.

He’ll take on Colton Gordon, who has struggled mightily against righties. Nine of the ten homers he’s allowed have come against that same side, as right-handers are slugging .547. Moreover, according to Baseball Savant, Chase Field holds the 6th best “Park Factor” in terms of offensive production.

Elly De La Cruz to Hit a Home Run (+450 | BetMGM) vs. (SP: Jake Irvin)

Next, we head to Nationals Park, where the Washington Nationals will take on the visiting Cincinnati Reds.

For this game, we’ll take a stab at shortstop phenom, Elly De La Cruz. Anyone who has followed the young budding superstar since he entered the league knows the switch-hitter bats much better from his natural left side (152 wRC+ vs. 77 wRC+ in 2025).

He’ll take on a struggling Jake Irvin, who is giving up an abysmal 1.85 HR/9 against left-handers. Although Irvin has generally done a decent job of keeping the ball on the ground, he has still been brutal in terms of limiting the long ball. Irvin is 2nd in baseball in terms of home runs given up (22). Irvin is a pitch-to-contact thrower who does not have swing-and-miss stuff (4th percentile in Whiff Rate). Therefore, this is an excellent matchup for De La Cruz, and the +450 number at BetMGM Sportsbook is just too good to pass up.

Jonathan Aranda to Hit a Home Run (+500 | bet365) vs. (SP: Sean Burke)

For our last pick, we’ll take first-time all-star Jonathan Aranda.

Aranda’s breakout has been one of the best storylines in baseball. The 27-year-old veteran was nothing more than a part-time player for the past three years and has burst onto the scene as one of the league’s best first basemen.

A big part of his success has been how well the lefty has been against right-handed throwers. All 11 of his home runs have come against the same side, as he’s slugging .518 with a 154 wRC+.

He’ll go against Sean Burke, who is giving up 1.68 HR/9 against the lefties. The +500 number that bet365 Sportsbook is floating has a ton of value.
