Game 3 of the NLDS sees the Atlanta Braves host the Milwaukee Brewers after winning Game 2 to tie the series at 1-1. Opening pitch is set for 1:07 p.m. ET and will air on TBS from Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Atlanta Braves Game 3 Predictions

There has been a grand total of six runs scored in the first two games of the NLDS between the Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves. Pitchers have dominated in this series, and that is likely to happen again on Monday afternoon when Ian Anderson takes the mound for Atlanta and Milwaukee counters with Freddy Peralta.

Milwaukee is a short road underdog in Game 3. Peralta has been a much more reliable pitcher than Anderson this season though, making the Brewers a nice play at this price. Their bats will come alive, helping the Brew Crew take a 2-1 lead with the opportunity to close out the Braves on Tuesday.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Atlanta Braves Game 3 Betting Analysis

Peralta has been extremely good for the Brewers this season. Peralta comes into this game with a 10-5 record and posted a 0.97 WHIP to go with a 2.81 ERA. He was fantastic in his one previous start against the Braves this season, allowing just three base runners while striking out eight batters over six innings in a win.

Peralta needs to rediscover the form that made him one of the best starters in the National League though. He was not sharp in his last two starts to close out the regular season. Milwaukee’s third starter allowed 12 hits and seven earned runs in 11.1 innings.

The Brewers have not looked good at the plate through the first two games of this series. Their only runs came off a Rowdy Tellez home run in Game 1, and only two players have more than one hit.

Willy Adames is one of those two players. Adames has been Milwaukee’s most reliable hitter since arriving from Tampa Bay, rejuvenating his career with the Brewers. He had a hit in each of the first two games, but he has also struck out five times in this series.

Luis Urias didn’t play in Game 1, but he had two hits on Saturday. He was able to make reliable contact, and that should ensure he is in the lineup for the Brewers in Game 3.

Milwaukee should see better performances from other hitters on Monday. Kolten Wong and Eduardo Escobar should both reach base, and Avisail Garcia could have a nice afternoon.

Anderson was one of Atlanta’s better pitchers in the regular season. He finished the year with a 9-5 record and recorded a 1.23 WHIP with a 3.58 ERA. However, he was not the same after a six-week stint on the injured list late in the year.

Anderson looked shaky in September. His only really great start came against lowly Arizona, as he posted a 4.39 ERA last month. He allowed seven home runs and 12 walks in his five starts, so Milwaukee has the potential to end its offensive drought.

Austin Riley has been the best hitter in this series so far. Riley was one of Atlanta’s best bats in the regular season, and he is the only player with three hits on either team. He had two hits against the Brewers in Game 2, and his sixth inning solo shot gave the Braves some breathing room in a 3-0 win.

Adam Duvall is still searching for his first hit this postseason. Duvall was one of the Braves’ best power hitters, and they have missed his bat. Catcher Travis d’Arnaud has also struggled mightily, striking out five times in his seven plate appearances.

The Braves need Freddie Freeman or Jorge Soler to step up in Game 3. Freeman was the 2020 NL MVP and came on strong after a slow start this season, while Soler was a real nice addition at the trade deadline.
