New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves Betting Analysis
The Mets and the Braves will square off at Truist Park for the first of a three-game set on Monday, July 11, 2022.
New York leads the National League East with a record of 53-33, despite yielding a 25-18 record on the road so far this season. The Braves are 1.5 games back in the National League East standings with records of 52-35 overall and 30-18 at home on the year.
New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves Betting Prediction
The New York Mets enter this matchup atop the NL East standings with a one and half-game lead over the second place Atlanta Braves. The Mets went 2-2 SU in their most recent series against the Marlins and have won six of their last 10 games. New York had a double-digit lead in this division not too long ago but have lost quite a bit of ground over the past month or so. The offense has been solid throughout the season, averaging 4.75 runs per game (4th). The Mets bullpen haven't been quite as good, but still have a respectable ERA of 3.76 (9th). The right-hander Max Scherzer (5-1, 2.26 ERA) will make his second start back from injury Monday. Scherzer dominated in his return against Cincinnati, striking out 11 batters in 6.0 innings while allowing just two hits and zero runs.
The Atlanta Braves are currently second in the NL East standings, one and a half games behind the first-place New York Mets. The Braves swept the Nationals in their most recent three-game series and have won eight of their last 10 games. After a slow start to the season, the Braves have been one of the best teams in the league over the past month and it looks like they may have finally figured things out. Atlanta's offense is playing great, averaging 4.78 runs per game (3rd). The bullpen has been just as good with a team ERA of 3.57 (5th). Braves ACE Max Fried (9-2) is scheduled to start Monday. Fried has been pitching lights out with an ERA of 2.52 in 17 games.
If you like a great pitching matchup, this is the game for you. Fried and Scherzer are two of the best in the league and should provide a low scoring game. I’m not confident in picking a side here, so will be playing this pitching matchup and taking the under.
Score Prediction: Braves 4, Mets 3
Best Bet: Under 7.5 Runs

New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves – Current Form
The Mets won against the Reds last Wednesday with 2-1 and then split the series with the Marlins last Sunday. The Marlins were unable to score a single run against the New York Mets on Thursday, which was New York’s best result in the last two series. Their best performance was in the first contest of a four-game series, on Thursday, when New York routed the Miami Marlins by posting 10 runs. The Braves have played excellent recently, highlighted by Atlanta posting back-to-back series victories over the Cardinals and the Nationals squads, resulting in a solid 6-1 record across that window. In the third contest against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves were in their best form in the last seven games, not allowing St. Louis Cardinals to score one single run. The first of three matches on Friday marked an 12-run effort by Atlanta against the Washington Nationals, which was their best performance this week.
