Jose Abreu (CWS) Over 0.5 Hits / Trea Turner (LAD) Over 0.5 Hits (-125)

Today we get former National Trea Turner facing off against Josiah Gray, who he was dealt for at the trade deadline last season. These two have faced off once before, with Turner going 1-2 with a HR, and I’m sure that trade narrative is sitting somewhere in the back of his head. Gray is primarily going to throw 4SFB/Slider/Curve, which Turner hits .330/.247/.333 against this year. Beyond his matchup success here, Turner has quite literally been the definition of consistency this season. He’s coming in with a 12 game hit streak, and is hitting .313 in the month of July. Turner is currently sitting at .306 on the season, and I like him to continue his consistency against his former team today. You could legitimately have had Turner every single game in the first half of the season and you’d still be happy, he’s that good.

After a slower start to the season, Abreu has had back-to-back impressive months hitting .346 in June and now .367 in July. Abreu has surprisingly been much better on the road this season, hitting .367, and I’m not sure there is a better destination than Coors Field in Denver. Abreu is coming into this game with 1+ Hit in 23 of his last 25 games, and German Marquez is a very good matchup. He currently boasts a 6-7 record with a 5.47 ERA and a .311 home OBA. German throws a fairly even combination of 4SFB/Slider/Changeup/Curve, which Abreu hits .290/.240/.321/.429 against this season. With the highest total on the slate in Coors field, I think Abreu is a big part of the White Sox offense today.
