Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants Betting Prediction

The Dodgers enter this matchup with a commanding lead over the rest NL West Division. Los Angeles won three of four games in their most recent series against the Rockies and have won seven of their last 10 games. Tied for the best record in the league, the Dodgers have been dominant on both sides of the ball. The offense ranks second in runs scored (526) and first in on base percentage (.336). Meanwhile, the bullpen ranks atop the league in both ERA (2.97) and WHIP (1.08). Southpaw Tyler Anderson (11-1, 2.61 ERA) is expected to start for the Dodgers on Tuesday.

San Francisco is currently third in the NL West standings, 17 and a half games behind the Dodgers for first place. The Giants took three of four games in their most recent series against the Cubs and have lost seven of their last 10 games. San Francisco has struggled over that stretch, averaging 2.8 runs per game while allowing opponents four and a half runs per game. Catching the Dodgers is a bit unrealistic at this point, but the Giants are still in arms reach of a Wild Card spot, four games behind the Phillies as of Monday. Left-handed pitcher Alex Wood (7-8, 4.11 ERA) is scheduled to start for San Francisco Tuesday.

The Dodgers swept the Giants in a four-game series just a few weeks ago and I expect things to be similar this time around. Tyler Anderson has been lights out for Los Angeles and allowed just four hits and one run to the Giants on July 22nd. Backing the Dodgers moneyline is not the worst value, but I like the runline here for the extra juice.

Score Prediction: Dodgers 6, Giants 3
