NBA: New York Knicks at Sacramento Kings: Pick & Prediction

In game 3 of a 5-game west coast road trip, the New York Knicks travel out to Sacramento to play the Kings, who are on the back end of a back-to-back.

The Kings fell just short of a remarkable comeback effort against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite this loss, the Kings have been trending upwards, winning five of their last seven. Sacramento currently stands as the 9-seed for the NBA Western Conference Play-In, just 1.5 games behind the Clippers for the 8. The Knicks will be without Jalen Brunson in tonight's late showdown.

Brunson suffered an ankle sprain last weekend against the Lakers and is expected to miss at least two weeks. Check out our prediction below on what the Brunson injury means in terms of impact for tonight's game.

While Brunson is out, Kings star Domantas Sabonis and point guard Malik Monk will most likely be missing this one.

Neither Sabonis nor Monk traveled to Los Angeles last night for their game against the Clippers. Both of them are nearing a return, but it would be a bit of a surprise if either were thrust into action tonight.

With or without Sabonis, Sacramento lacks a true rim protector. Jonas Valanciunas has stepped in and produced gaudy numbers as a rebounder, but he should be overwhelmed on the defensive end tonight.

Although it is a small sample size of only two games, Karl Anthony-Towns has stepped in and put up 20 and 21 shots, respectively, in two games without Brunson in the lineup this season.

The volume should absolutely be there with Josh Hart and OG Anunoby playing hurt. Look for the Knicks to run through KAT tonight and KAT to see plenty of success against a weak interior on the second game of a back-to-back.
