NBA Daily Tip Sheet – Thursday’s Triple Threat
There's many ways to bet on the NBA, and some of the most popular ones include taking a side, a full-game total, or a player prop. So, this is what we like to call our Daily Triple Threat. Our three best bets in the aforementioned categories for NBA matchups on Thursday, January 19. Best of luck!
NBA Best Bets for Thursday, January 19
- Draymond Green (GSW) Over 6.5 Rebounds (-115) @ BOS
- Nets-Suns Under 220.5 (-110)
- Philadelphia 76ers -2 (-110) @ POR
Draymond Green (GSW) Over 6.5 Rebounds
- Matchup: Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics
- TV-Time: TNT, 7:30 p.m. ET
Draymond Green was surprisingly quiet on the glass in the Warriors’ latest back-to-back set against Washington and Chicago, considering he grabbed just four rebounds in an ugly loss to the Bulls this past Sunday, and he grabbed six in a comfortable win over the Wizards on Monday.
However, prior to his latest two-game stretch, Green had secured 8+ rebounds in eight of his last nine outings, with six of those performances ringing in at 10+ boards.
So, I’ll back Draymond to bounce back in the rebounding department in what should ultimately be a fast-paced, competitive matchup against a Celtics squad that’s now scored 120+ points in five of their last seven games.
Nets-Suns Under 220.5 (-110)
- Matchup: Brooklyn Nets vs. Phoenix Suns
- TV-Time: TNT, 10:00 p.m. ET
Brooklyn will be without Kevin Durant yet again in tonight’s matchup against Phoenix, and since their superstars’ latest injury, this squad has completely fallen apart at the seams, especially at the offensive end of the floor, highlighted by the Nets posting a record of 2-4 in their last six games, while falling short of the 110-point scoring mark in four of those contests.
Fortunately, though, they’ll venture to the Valley to face Phoenix tonight, and Brooklyn should actually have a decent shot at escaping with a win, as the Suns enter Thursday having lost 12 of their last 14 contests, and they’ve now scored 106 points or less in eight of their last ten.
So, I’ll take the ‘under’ in Thursday’s matchup between a pair of teams that currently both rank Bottom 10 in the league in pace, and have continued to slow down, considering both squads have scored less than 107 points in four of their last six contests.
Philadelphia 76ers -2 (-110)
- Matchup: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Portland Trail Blazers
- TV-Time: NBA League Pass, 10:00 p.m. ET
The Blazers barreled out to a red-hot 10-4 start to the season, and for a brief moment, it seemed like they had all their typical issues ironed out nice and early to open their campaign. However, it appears that was far from the case, considering the Blazers have yielded a lackluster record of 11-19 since that point, and they’re now 4-10 in their last 14 games.
While on the other hand, Philly has dealt with the exact opposite set of circumstances throughout the year, highlighted by the Sixers opening the season with a head-scratching 5-7 skid, and now, they’re 23-9 since that point.
Unfortunately, this is a matchup between two teams trending in entirely different directions at the moment. The Sixers have been playing excellent basketball as of late, sitting 16-4 in their last 20 games, and 8-2 in their last 10. And the Blazers are 2-6 in their last eight. So, I’ll back Philly to handle business on the road in Portland tonight.
Michael's Triple Threat Tracker: 19-10-1 (+753)
- Draymond Green (GSW) Over 6.5 Rebounds (-115) @ BOS
- Nets-Suns Under 220.5 (-110)
