Kyrie Irving (BKN) Over 6.5 Assists

Without a doubt, this Brooklyn squad is far less dangerous in the absence of Kevin Durant. The Nets are now 4-6 in their last 10 contests, while ranking 20th in the league in net rating during their latest stretch (+0.2 NetRtg).

However, in the absence of Durant, there’s been plenty of extra touches to go around for Brooklyn, which adds player prop value to the table, and as of late, Kyrie Irving has been the main beneficiary of the void left by their top scoring threat, highlighted by Kyrie posting averages of 35 PTS, 6.4 REB, and 7.6 AST across his last seven outings.

Ben Simmons is also out for Brooklyn tonight with an ankle injury, which shouldn’t hurt them too much in the scoring department, but ultimately, it still puts 6.4 assists per game back on the board, and forces the ball into the hands of Irving more often. So, I’ll back Kyrie to clear his assists number in a personal revenge spot against a Celtics squad that’s surrendered a lofty total of 118+ points in four of their last seven contests.

Oklahoma City Thunder -5.5 (-110) @ HOU

The Rockets are one of the worst teams in basketball, and there’s no getting around it, considering Houston is positioned dead-last the Western Conference standings with a record of 12-38 on the year, while currently ranking 29th in the league in net rating (-7.7 NetRtg).

However, Houston has finally strung together a couple of wins as of late, highlighted by the Rockets posting a surprisingly pedestrian record of 2-2 in their last four contests, which comes on the heels of a miserable 1-18 skid prior to their latest four-game split.

While on the other hand, Oklahoma City is currently positioned 11th in the Western Conference standings with a record of 24-26, which on the surface, doesn’t seem all that much better than Houston. But make no mistake, the Thunder are much better than the team we’ve witnessed in recent years, and they are much better than this Rockets squad.

In their last trip out, the Thunder posted a 128-120 home loss to Golden State, however, Oklahoma City still enters Wednesday riding a solid 8-4 run, while ranking Top 10 in the league in both offensive and defensive during that stretch. So, I’ll back Oklahoma City to bounce back against a Rockets squad that’s 3-20 SU and 8-14-1 ATS since mid-December.

Raptors-Jazz Over 230.5 (-110)

The Jazz have been on quite the rollercoaster throughout the first half of the season. However, regardless of the circumstances, the Jazz tend to live-and-die with their defensive play, and overall, they seem relatively content with that notion, considering Utah ranks Top 5 in the league in offensive rating and Bottom 5 in defensive rating at the moment (117 ORtg, 116 DRtg).

While on the other hand, the Raptors aren’t particularly known for a run-and-gun style of play, as Toronto ranks just 26th in the league in pace on the season. In the month of January, though, they certainly ramped up the pace, highlighted by the Raptors averaging 118 points scored and 116 points allowed across their latest 12-game stretch.

Both of these squads enter Wednesday having cleared the 116-point scoring mark in 9-of-13 contests. So, I’ll take the ‘over’ in tonight’s tilt between the Raptors and Jazz.
