Philadelphia 76ers +2 (-110) @ MIN

The spread for this matchup has “trap-line” written all over it, but Philly is being offered at far too generous of a price to pass up in this instance. The Sixers have arguably been the best team in basketball since New Year’s Day, currently boasting a record of 21-8 in their last 29 games, and in their most recent nationally televised bout, they snapped the Bucks’ 16-game winning streak with a 133-130 road victory on Saturday night.

While on the other hand, the Timberwolves have been up-and-down all year, currently positioned 6th in the Western Conference standings with a record of 34-32, while ranking 18th in the league in net rating (+0.1 NetRtg). This Minnesota’ squad has played some really solid basketball as of late, though, they enter Tuesday following three consecutive road wins over the Clippers, Lakers, and Kings; and now, they return home to face the Sixers.

The Timberwolves have a flashy roster, loaded with talented individuals. However, as long as Karl-Anthony Towns remains sidelined for this squad, they simply cannot be trusted, especially in matchups against top shelf opponents like Philly.

Unlike previous iterations of this Sixers’ team, Philly has played surprisingly well on the road this season, currently owning a solid record of 18-12 away from the City of Brotherly Love. So, it’s tough to deny the value in backing the Sixers to win Tuesday’s matchup against a Minnesota’ squad that ranks in the bottom half of the league in both offensive and defensive rating since February 2nd (114.8 ORtg, 115.5 DRtg).

76ers-Timberwolves Under 229 (-110)

Minnesota and Philly have both partaken in some high-scoring bouts as of late. The Sixers enter Tuesday having surrendered 130+ points in three straight contests, and the Wolves just posted a 138-134 victory over Sacramento in their most recent affair.

Their recent scoring outputs have been a bit of a trend-breaker for both teams, though, considering Minnesota scored 110 points or less in four-of-five games prior to their latest outing, and Philly currently ranks 25th in the league in pace (97.2 PACE).

Philly has played awful at the defensive end of the floor over the last week or so, however, prior to their latest three-game stretch, the Sixers held their opponent to 110 points or less in nine of their last ten contests, and their pace of play number should come crashing back down to earth in a matchup against a Wolves’ squad that’s seen both teams fall short of the 115-point mark in four of their last six outings.

Draymond Green (GSW) Over 6.5 Assists

Draymond Green has been surprisingly quiet in the passing department for the Warriors as of late, considering he’s tallied a grand total of just four assists across Golden State’s last two contests, despite accumulating over 23 minutes of runtime in both affairs.

Prior to the last two games, though, Green had recorded 7+ assists in 13 of his last 17 outings, with six of those performances ringing in at 9+ assists.  So, I’ll back Green to clear his assist number in Thursday’s matchup against a Thunder’ squad that ranks 2nd in scoring and 7th in pace (118 PPG, 101.1 PACE).
