PHILADELPHIA 76ERS vs. GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS BETTING PREDICTION

The Warriors are positioned 6th in the Western Conference standings with a record of 38-36 on the year, however, their overall record certainly doesn’t tell the full story, considering they’ve posted an impressive record of 29-7 on their home floor, and a record of 9-29 away from it.

For a good chunk of the season, the masses claimed that the Warriors were simply drawing tougher opponents on the road, combined with a handful of bad breaks injury-wise, but at this point, it looks like that ship has officially sailed.

Plain and simple, this Warriors’ team just plays much better at home than they do on the road, currently ranked 6th in net rating on their home floor (+7.7 NetRtg), and 27th away from it (-6.5 NetRtg), despite entering Friday following wins in back-to-back road games over Houston and Dallas.

While on the other hand, the Sixers have been the best team in basketball since mid-December, currently boasting a record of 37-11 in their last 48 games, while pacing the entire league in net rating by a comfortable margin during that span at +7.1, with the closest teams rivalling that number being the Cavaliers (+5.4 NetRtg), Grizzlies (+5.4 NetRtg), and Nuggets (+5.1 NetRtg).

The Sixers have some health issues that need to be cleaned up ahead of this one, though, as Joel Embiid exited their latest affair with a calf injury, and James Harden has missed two of their last three due to Achilles soreness. If Embiid sits out, all bets are off, just take the Warriors to cover. However, if he does play, like Doc Rivers expects, it should make for a very exciting showdown.

The Warriors rank 1st in pace and 2nd in points scored (118.4 PPG, and they are particularly deadly from long range on their home floor, currently jacking up 43.5 three-point attempts per game at a 39% clip at Chase Center on the season, and the Sixers certainly aren’t afraid to partake in a good ole’ fashioned shootout, having scored 116+ points in 10 of their last 12 games, with six of those performances ringing in north of the 120-point mark.

All things considered, Golden State is a decent wager on Friday night, but why bother betting against Philly right now? The Sixers are 9-1 in their last ten games, with their only loss during that span coming in double overtime on the road against Chicago.

It’s a make-or-miss league, and there’s a good chance that the Warriors turn this one into a three-point shooting contest. If I had to choose a side, my bet would probably be on Golden State to knock down more longballs, but the Warriors are just 4-6 in their last ten games, and the Sixers are 23-12 on the road this season. So, taking the ‘over’ and rooting for a bunch of points seems to be the safest route in this one.
