Betting on the Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers have been one of the NBA’s best teams historically, and as a result, they are a popular team to bet on.

Since moving to Philadelphia in the 1960s, the 76ers have enjoyed one of the NBA’s most storied histories.

From winning NBA titles with Hall of Famers like Wilt Chamberlain, Julius Erving, and Moses Malone to owning two of three lowest winning percentages in a single season, 76ers fans have seen it all.

In the post-Iverson era, the 76ers popularized “tanking,” the strategy of putting together a sub-par team in an effort to land high draft picks that could change the course of the franchise overnight.

This tanking effort led to four top-three draft picks in four years. One of those picks was future NBA MVP Joel Embiid, the most popular Philadelphia star since Iverson.

Embiid’s arrival took the Sixers from bottom-feeder to yearly contender, making the 76ers a fan-favorite and often a betting favorite.
