Week 8 of the NFL season resumes with a heavyweight non-conference showdown between the Browns and Seahawks. The betting odds see Cleveland as a three-point underdog eyeing its third straight victory. Coverage begins from Lumen Field in Seattle on Sunday, October 29 at 4:05 p.m. ET on FOX.

Cleveland Browns vs Seattle Seahawks Odds

• Opening point spread: Seahawks -2.5
• Opening moneyline: Seahawks -150/Browns +130
• Opening total: Over/Under 40.5 points scored
• Time: 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday (FOX)

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is definitely out this week. BetMGM opened the Seahawks -2.5 and topped out at -4 Thursday afternoon, then backtracked to -3.5 Thursday night.

Spread tickets are running 2/1 and spread money 3/1 on Seattle.

The total dipped from 40.5 to 38 by Wednesday, with multiple stops along the way. Ticket count is 2/1 and money 2.5/1 on the Under.

UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Despite Deshaun Watson getting injured again, this time in the first quarter, Cleveland once again found a way to win. With perhaps a little officiating assistance.

The Browns (4-2 SU/3-3 ATS) went back-and-forth with Indianapolis the whole game. After giving up 75-yard TD reception with 5:38 remaining, Cleveland trailed 38-33. But P.J. led a game-winning touchdown drive, aided by a questionable pass-interference call.

The Browns won 39-38, failing to cover as 3.5-point road favorites.

Seattle (4-2 SU and ATS) did just enough to get a Week 7 win and cover. The Seahawks were laying 9 points at home vs. Arizona and won 20-10.

Browns vs Seahawks Pick, Prediction

Action Network NFL betting expert Brandon Anderson offers this prediction:

We'll see what Geno Smith and the offense can do against Cleveland's suddenly beatable defense, but the huge mismatch here is on the other side of the ball. Seattle's defense is balling, and Cleveland's offense is worst in the league by DVOA over the past four weeks.

The Browns are not built to play from behind with Walker, so if Seattle plays well, there's a chance this game gets blown wide open. The Seahawks offense has been outstanding by most metrics but terrible on third downs and in the red zone, two areas the Browns have been particularly good. Both of those tend to regress to the mean, so if Seattle converts and the defense holds Cleveland, this could get ugly.

Three of Seattle's four wins have come by double digits. That includes a 24-3 win earlier this month, and the Browns lost 28-3 one day before that. There's real blowout potential here.

I really like the Seahawks in this spot and made Seattle -2.5 my Hot Read, but our read was right and now we've flipped past the key number and lost much of the value. I still like Seattle, but rather than chase the key number, I'll get aggressive with a blowout escalator. The Seahawks are really good and due for a breakout game just like the Ravens were last week before dominating the Lions.
