Week 9 of the NFL season continues with a mid-afternoon non-conference clash between the Colts and Panthers. The betting odds see Carolina as a 2.5-point home underdog after earning its first win of the season last week. Indianapolis Colts vs Carolina Panthers Odds

• Opening point spread: Colts -2.5
• Opening moneyline: Colts -150/Panthers +130
• Opening total: Over/Under 45.5 points scored
• Time: 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday (CBS)

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Right before kickoff, Indianapolis is down to -1.5 in TwinSpires Sportsbook's NFL odds Week 9 market. That's down from the -3 opener and a stop at -2.5.

The Colts are seeing 66% of spread tickets, while 57% of spread money is on the Panthers.

"It's Pros vs Joes, Pros on the Panthers +3," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said.

The total is down a point to 44.5, with 57% of tickets/64% of money on the Under.

UPDATE 5:30 P.M. ET FRIDAY: Indy has been a 2.5-point favorite at various juice almost all week at BetMGM. On Tuesday, the Colts spent a few hours at -3 (-105). Indianapolis is now -2.5 flat, with ticket count 2/1 and money 3/1 on short home 'dog Carolina.

The total opened at 45.5 Sunday night, then early Monday afternoon went to 45/44.5/44. It remains at 44 tonight, with 55% of tickets on the Over/84% of money on the Under.

UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Bryce Young and Carolina finally cracked the win column this season, both on the field and against the oddsmakers. The Panthers (1-6 SU/1-5-1 ATS) got a final-seconds field goal to edge Houston 15-13 catching 3.5 points at home.

Indianapolis (3-5 SU/4-4 ATS) fell to New Orleans 38-27 as a 1.5-point home underdog.

The Indy-Carolina line made a juice adjustment tonight, going from -2.5 flat to -2.5 (-120) in The SuperBook's NFL odds Week 9 market.

Colts overs have been profitable this season (6-2), despite all the unders around the league. Indianapolis plays fast, and its defense has been trending down in recent weeks.

Bryce Young and Carolina's offense looked much better coming out of the bye last week and should get even better in Thomas Brown's second game calling plays. The Colts are going to score on this defense, but Carolina can also put up some points. The over is ticking up, so grab it now.
