2022 Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Jaguars finished dead last in the AFC South with a record of 3-14 last season, which was the worst mark in the entire league, as the Texans (4-13) and Jets (4-13) both edged Jacksonville by a slim one game margin at the bottom of the totem pole.

Jacksonville showed brief flashes of brilliance last year, as the Jaguars scattered tough upset victories over the Bills, Colts, and Dolphins throughout their campaign; however, Jacksonville went 0-4 in matchups against the Jets, Texans, and Falcons, which ultimately separated them from other league bottom dwellers.

Former Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence posted an incredibly disappointing rookie campaign, as the Jaguars’ glorified first overall pick led Jacksonville’s offense to just 14.9 PPG on 305 YPG last season, which ranked 32nd in scoring and 27th in total yardage.

However, the Jaguars’ offense often fell into precarious pass heavy situations throughout the year, considering their defense ranked 28th in points allowed and 31st in total yardage (26.9 PPG, 384 YPG); so it’ll be interesting to see what potential adjustments new head coach Doug Pederson and defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell bring to the table for this young squad.

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 6.5 (+100)
  • Under 6.5 (-130)

Jacksonville’s win total is stationed at OU 9.5 with a moderate lean towards the under at -130, and while the Jaguars should greatly improve upon last year’s 3-14 mark in Lawrence’s second campaign under-center, I still have Jacksonville pinned for roughly six winnable matchups against the Giants, Commanders, Lions, Jets, and Texans (2); and it’s certainly not guaranteed they sweep those contests, so I’d roll with the under here.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS ODDS TO WIN AFC SOUTH

+700

The Jaguars are listed at +700 to win the AFC South, which is the third best odds to win the division falling somewhat no man’s land territory, with the Colts (-105) and Titans (+135) sitting well ahead as the clear favorites, while the Texans’ line (+2500) nearly quadruples Jacksonville’s as a longshot.

Personally, I don’t find Jacksonville as an intriguing play to win the division at +700; and while it’s certainly possible for Pederson to waltz in and flip the script in his first season with the team, that line needs to climb above +1000 before I consider wasting any money on it.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS ODDS TO WIN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+5000

The Jaguars are listed at +5000 to win the AFC, which is the third worst odds to win the conference ahead of the Jets (+6600) and Texans (+12500); and while there’s several question marks surrounding Jacksonville that could ultimately work in its favor, there’s no value at +5000 for a group that’s proven absolutely nothing.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+10000

Jacksonville is listed at +10000 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which lands at the forefront of a deep longshot cluster containing the Giants (+10000), Panthers (+12500), Lions (+12500), Jets (+12500), and Seahawks (+12500); and while the Jaguars may have the highest ceiling amongst the group due to various uncertainties, it would still be absolutely shocking if any of those squads made the playoffs, let alone a deep run, so why bother.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 2022 MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Trevor Lawrence (QB) +6600

James Robinson (RB) +25000

Lawrence is listed at +8000 to win MVP in his sophomore campaign with the Jaguars, which ranks alongside Baker Mayfield (+800), Carson Wentz (+8000), Justin Fields (+8000), and Mitch Trubisky (+8000) near the bottom of the QB totem pole; and while personally, I won’t be wagering on Lawrence to win the award, Pederson briefly turned Wentz into an MVP caliber QB with Philly back in 2017, so I’m relatively fond of Lawrence as a longshot play, but some crazy stuff would need to happen.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (+450) No (-650)

The Jaguars posted the worst record in the NFL last year at 3-14, and while it’s easy to write them off for a fifth straight season at -650, Jacksonville’s offense should improve by leaps and bounds in Lawrence’s second campaign under center, and the addition of a Super Bowl winning head coach provides enormous upside as well; so, feet to the flames, I'd rather roll the dice on Jacksonville making the playoffs at +450.
