2022 Kansas City Chiefs Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions
2022 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW
The Chiefs earned the second seed in the AFC with a record of 12-5 last season, and nearly punched a ticket to their third straight Super Bowl, as Kansas City went to halftime of last year’s AFC Championship leading the Bengals 21-10; however, they were outscored 14-3 in the second half, and went on to lose the contest in overtime (L, 27-24).
Kansas City’s offense was dominant last season per usual, as the Chiefs finished up the year ranked 1st in total yardage and 4th in scoring (29.4 PPG, 408 YPG); however, Kansas City shipped All-Pro WR Tyreek Hill to Miami in exchange for a handful of draft picks this past offseason, so it will be interesting to see how Patrick Mahomes fares without his favorite target.
At the time, most figured the Chiefs’ Divisional Round matchup against Buffalo would ultimately decide who represents the AFC in last year’s Super Bowl, and it certainly felt like an AFC Championship Game, as Kansas City escaped with a thrilling overtime victory at Arrowhead Stadium by a score of 42-36; however, the Chiefs completely fell apart with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line last year, so I expect to see a very focused squad out of the gate this season.
Best Bet: Chiefs to Win the AFC (+450)

WIN TOTAL ODDS
- Over 10.5 (-120)
- Under 10.5 (-110)
The Chiefs’ win total is stationed at OU 10.5 with a slight lean to the over at -120, which may seem like a relatively low bar considering they’ve won 12+ games in four straight seasons; however, Kansas City’s upcoming schedule is brutal, with matchups against the Rams, Bills, Buccaneers, Niners, Titans, Bengals, Chargers (2), and Broncos (2) on this year’s docket, so I’ll stay away from this number despite liking them as a future play in other departments.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS ODDS TO WIN AFC WEST
+150
The Chiefs are listed as +150 favorites to claim their seventh straight AFC West title, which is a clean chop above the Chargers (+250) and Broncos (+260), while the Raiders (+600) take a back seat as the lone longshot; however, the division is far more crowded now with Denver’s addition of Russell Wilson, so I’ll stay away from this department too.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS ODDS TO WIN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP
+450
Kansas City is listed at +450 to win the AFC, which narrowly trails Buffalo (+325) for the best odds to win the conference, before hitting a steep drop off to squads like the Broncos (+850), Chargers (+850), Ravens (+1100), and Bengals (+1100); and while the Bills are undeniably destined for big things, I still wouldn’t favor them over a Chiefs’ squad that’s been to four straight AFC Championship Games.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57
+900
The Chiefs are listed at +900 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which stands as the lone barrier between the top two contenders on the odds list in the Bills (+650) and Buccaneers (+750); and the rest of the upper tier inhabited by the Packers (+1100), Rams (+1100), Niners (+1400), Cowboys (+1600), Broncos (+1600), and Chargers (+1600).
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS 2022 MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS
Patrick Mahomes (QB) +800
Travis Kelce (TE) +15000
Mahomes is deadlocked with Buccaneers’ QB Tom Brady at +800 to win his second MVP award, which only trails Bills’ QB Josh Allen (+700) for the best odds on the board; and while Kansas City’s annual success typically propels Mahomes into the MVP conversation regardless of the circumstances, I doubt he wins it in his first full go-around without Hill by his side, especially with the Chiefs’ incredibly strong strength of schedule.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS
Make Playoff?: Yes (-220) | No (+175)
Since taking the reigns as Kansas City’s signal-caller in 2018, Mahomes has led the Chiefs to four straight 12-win seasons and four straight AFC Championship Games; and while it’s fair to expect some level of regression on offense after parting ways with one of the league’s top wideouts, Kansas City should still backflip and cakewalk its way to the postseason despite the void left behind by Hill.
