Baltimore Ravens vs. Las Vegas Raiders Predictions
Score Prediction - Ravens 31 Raiders 27
As always, the opening week of NFL action will conclude with Monday Night Football on ESPN – as the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders will square off for a highly anticipated Week 1 finale at Allegiant Stadium in the Gambling Capital of America.
After jumping out to an excellent start to the year (6-3), the Raiders gradually fell apart on both sides of the ball towards the end of last season – as Las Vegas surrendered 30 points or more in five of its last seven matchups (33.9 PPG), while also coughing up 17 turnovers across that same window to finish with a relatively underwhelming 8-8 mark.
On the other hand, after coasting into last year’s playoffs riding an impressive five-game winning streak, Baltimore was the first to fall victim to the dreaded injury bug this preseason – as running backs J.K. Dobbins, Justice Hill, and Gus Edwards were recently placed on injured reserve with season-ending injuries, along with All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters.
I’ll take the over here though, as despite Baltimore’s lengthy absentee list, John Harbaugh’s offense should have no problem generating points against a Raiders’ squad that ranked 30 th defensively last year (29.9 PPG) – and Las Vegas still struck me as a highly competent offensive unit last season (27.1 PPG), aside from its wretched turnover issues.
Lamar Jackson has scored a rushing TD in four of his last six games when Baltimore is the favorite. (AP)

Baltimore Ravens vs. Las Vegas Raiders Betting Analysis
After winning a trio of exciting shootouts against the Saints, Chiefs, and Panthers early last season (64.7 PPG), Derek Carr and the Raiders returned from their Week 5 bye boasting incredibly high expectations heading into the final three-fourths of the year.
The Raiders experienced some debilitating turnover issues towards the end of the year though, considering Vegas finished the season ranked 27 th in giveaways per game (1.6) – primarily thanks to Carr and company’s 17 turnovers across their final seven contests.
On the other hand, after stumbling out to a somewhat frustrating start to the season (6-5), the Ravens quickly cleaned things up in the weeks leading up to last year’s playoffs, as Baltimore ended up winning six straight games before falling to Buffalo in the second round of the postseason (17-3) – and turned the ball over one time or less in all seven of those events.
I’m tempted to side with Baltimore on the road here, as I still think the Ravens will ultimately win Monday Night’s event – but losing a Pro-Bowl corner, like Peters, just a few days before kickoff could cause a ripple effect throughout Baltimore’s entire secondary, and that slightly worries me ahead of this matchup.
