10 Super Bowl 2025 Prop Bets Drawing Sharp Wagers or Public Dollars

Super Bowl prop bets are easily the best part about the Big Game. From the most casual bettors to the pros – sharp bettors, if you will – all of them can and do get involved.

In fact, Super Bowl props have grown so popular that there is now more money bet on props than on the game itself. That will certainly be the case Sunday, when the Kansas City Chiefs meet the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.

Following are the five most interesting Super Bowl prop bets that pro bettors made, and five popular Super Bowl prop bets from the public.

Five Popular Super Bowl 59 Prop Bets

Player to Score First Touchdown

Will Saquon Barkley cash a plethora of tickets by scoring the first touchdown? (Getty)

The logic is pretty simple here: Bettors love getting paid quickly. Johnny Avello, director of operations for DraftKings Sportsbook, said first touchdown scorer is consistently one of the most-bet markets in Super Bowl props.

"That's been really popular. It's been gaining steam every year. The past two years, it's become our biggest-bet prop," Avello said, while expanding on the reasons. "No. 1, it's quick action, just after the game starts. Usually, that bet is settled in the first quarter.

"No. 2, the odds are pretty pretty attractive. Even the favorite is usually not less than +5/1, and you've got odds at 100/1 or higher."

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is the favorite at DraftKings, just shy of that 5/1 price at +475. He's followed by teammate Jalen Hurts at +600. Both are taking plenty of tickets.

You could also take a long-shot flier on a defensive or special teams player. In between, there are attractive odds on some real brand names.

"I think A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith will take pretty good action, at 12/1 and 16/1, respectively. And Dallas Goedert at 20/1," Avello said of the Eagles' starting wideouts and tight end.

Coin Toss

This is literally a 50/50 proposition. Heads or Tails. DraftKings has both priced at +100, as they should be.

"You're getting even money, and in this case, the game itself is a toss-up," Avello said, alluding to the Chiefs being modest 1.5-point favorites. "So why not bet this? Your bet is over early. You know before kickoff if you won or not."

Avello said the public also likes the related Super Bowl props of which team wins the coin toss and whether the coin-toss winner will go on to win the game.

As might be expected, this market is seeing two-way action at DK. Tails is taking 55% of bets, while 55% of money is on Heads.

Will There Be A Successful 2-Point Conversion?

If there's a successful 2-point conversion, it could be Jalen Hurts getting it. (Getty)

Coaches seemed much more aggressive this season in going for it on fourth down and pursuing 2-point conversions after touchdowns. So on the Yes/No prop of a successful 2-point conversion, the odds are fairly short on Yes, at +260.

The sharper bettors, if they play this prop at all, will lay -350 on No.

But the squares want to have fun, and I'm right there with them. In fact, while DraftKings has a Yes/No Super Bowl prop bet on just whether a 2-point conversion will be attempted (No -115/Yes +150), the public is more enthused by the price on a successful 2-point conversion.

"That's no surprise at all. They'd go for that," Avello said.

The numbers bear it out. Yes is landing 99.6% of bets and 99.9% of money.

Will The Game Go To Overtime?

Last year, Mecole Hardman scored the game-winning TD in overtime. (Getty)

This one has a much better payout than the 2-point conversion. And it's fresh in everyone's minds that last year, the Chiefs and 49ers went to overtime tied at 19. Kansas City ultimately won 25-22 on a final-seconds touchdown.

This year, DraftKings has Overtime No a healthy -1800 chalk. But Yes +900 is taking 99% of all tickets and money in this popular Super Bowl prop bets market.

It's a square/public play, but in this instance, Avello can see the case for betting Yes.

"Look at the spread on the game. It's pretty much a pick 'em," he said.

Overtime Yes is attracting 99% of tickets and dollars.

Gatorade Color

This prop has rapidly gained in popularity over the years, as well. Gatorade color for the final-seconds celebration is one of the last Super Bowl prop bets to settle up, giving customers something to take them through the whole game.

With the Chiefs going for a three-peat, the favorite at DraftKings is no surprise.

"Purple is the favorite, because purple was the color the last two years, when the Chiefs played in and won the game," Avello said of the +175 chalk.

As Avello pointed out, with either team, you can do better by wagering on the Gatorade color than on an outright victory – if you can guess the color.

"If the Chiefs win the game, and it's purple, you're able to get a little more than on Chiefs moneyline," Avello said, noting K.C.'s moneyline price is -125. "If the Eagles win the game, and it's green/yellow, you're getting a much better price than Eagles moneyline."

Philly is +105 on the moneyline, while Gatorade Green/Yellow is +250. At the moment, green/yellow is +250 while taking more bets and significantly more money than any other color at DraftKings.

Orange (+250) is No. 2 in tickets, followed by Blue (+450), then purple. In money, Blue is No. 2, followed closely by Purple and Orange.

However, Green/Yellow has almost two times more tickets than Orange and four times more money than Blue.

Five Super Bowl Prop Bets That Sharps are Making

Saquon Barkley Longest Rush

When it comes to props, sharp bettors tend to like Unders. That was the case Thursday night for Bill Krackomberger, a regular at The SuperBook's Super Bowl prop bets release.

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is having a season for the ages. And he's consistently ripping off long runs. But on the Over/Under for Barkley's longest run, Krackomberger couldn't resist Under -110 on an opening total of 25.5.

"I'm shocked I was able to bet it. I did not plan on betting that," Krackomberger said. "I expected the number to be 19.5 or 20.5. But maybe The SuperBook's right. The public is all coming to town to bet Barkley Over."

Krackomberger's action help quickly move the total from 25.5 down to 23.5. And he feels pretty good about his number.

"I think the Chiefs are gonna be focused on containing Barkley," he said, noting he made the max bet of $2,000. "The Under is a big bet for me. If they took more, I'd bet more."

Patrick Mahomes Rushing Yards

Randy McKay, another regular for this annual event, opened his wagering on Super Bowl prop bets with a play on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes: Over 28.5 rushing yards, at -110.

"This was the lowest number I've seen. I'd seen some 30s and 29.5s," McKay said. "I like Mahomes to keep running the ball like he did against Buffalo. He even had some designed runs in that game."

Mahomes had 11 carries for 43 yards and two touchdowns in Kansas City's 32-29 win over Buffalo in the AFC Championship Game.

"It's kind of a square bet. I can see the public banging that number up a lot higher," McKay said.

By night's end Thursday, Mahomes Over/Under rushing total was up 3 yards to 31.5 (-110).

Nick Bolton Total Solo & Assisted Tackles

Will Nick Bolton (32) record at least eight tackles in the Super Bowl? (Getty)

The SuperBook opened Nick Bolton's Over/Under on total tackles at 7.5 (Over -120). In part due to McKay weighing in, it's now at 7.5 (Over -150).

"I've been betting a lot of tackle props this year. And I like Bolton," McKay said. "He had nine tackles in the Super Bowl two years ago, and Philly didn't run the ball as much then as they do now. So that'll give Bolton more opportunities.

"Bolton scored a touchdown two years ago, too. I like him to have a big game again."

Along with his nine tackles in Kansas City's 38-35 Super Bowl 59 win over Philadelphia, Bolton returned a fumble 36 yards for a TD.

Jahan Dotson Receptions

SuperBook oddsmakers aren't expecting much out of Eagles wideout Jahan Dotson. His total receptions opened at 0.5 (-110). But thanks to sharp action, the price on the Over moved out to -170 in this Super Bowl prop bets market.

Krackomberger liked the Over at -110. Yes, Philadelphia's offense has plenty of options before Dotson – running it with QB Jalen Hurts, running with or passing to Barkley, or throwing it to A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith or Dallas Goedert.

But Krackomberger sees at least one catch for Dotson.

"I think he gets a reception. The Eagles may change things up in this game," he said.

Total Number of Chiefs With a Rushing Attempt

Patrick Mahomes and Kareem Hunt will get their carries. Sharp bettors ultimately think Over 4.5 Chiefs will have a Super Bowl rushing attempt. (Getty)

SuperBook risk manager Casey Degnon said this Super Bowl prop bet got a lot of sharp attention. In fact, the Over opened as an underdog, but now is a favorite.

"We went from 4.5 (Over +140) to 4.5 (Over -130). That surprises me a little bit, to see the bettors hit it like that," Degnon said.

Certainly, Mahomes is going to run the ball. As noted above, he had nine carries in the win over the Bills. Kareem Hunt, Isiah Pacheco and Xavier Worthy also carried the ball in that game.

The wiseguys seem to think at least one more player will get in on the act for the Chiefs. Maybe it's JuJu Smith-Schuster or Hollywood Brown.

Or perhaps this scenario unfolds: The Chiefs are in full control in the fourth quarter, and backup QB Carson Wentz – the former Eagle – comes in and gets a rushing attempt on a kneel-down to become that fifth rusher.

It's pretty unlikely. But that'd be quite a way to hit the Over.
