BOSTON BRUINS vs. CAROLINA HURRICANES PREDICTIONS
The Bruins and Hurricanes have played six games, and the home side has been victorious in all six games so far. In fact, the average margin of victory for the Bruins in their three contests at TD Garden was 2.7 goals per game, and the average margin of victory for the Canes at PNC Arena has been 3.7 goals per game. Luckily for Carolina, it gets the decisive Game 7 on home ice.
Since relocating from Hartford to Carolina, it's been Lucky 7's for the Hurricanes. In five Game 7s in the playoffs, the Canes are a perfect 5-for-5, including a Game 7 win over the Bruins in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2009. The Canes also hoisted Lord Stanley's Cup in 2006 after defeating the Edmonton Oilers at PNC Arena, one of two Game 7 victories in that year's playoffs.
The Bruins last appeared in a Game 7 in 2019, losing the Stanley Cup Finals to the St. Louis Blues that season in the decisive game. Earlier in those playoffs, Boston topped Toronto in the first round in Game 7. In fact, the B's have been in a Game 7 five times in the first round since 2011, winning four of the five games, three times against the Maple Leafs and once against the Montreal Canadiens. Their only Game 7 loss during the span was in 2012 against the Washington Capitals.

The Bruins will hope that the fifth time is a charm, as they look to snap an 0-4 skid at PNC Arena, including the first three road games in this series. The home team has won all six games in this series, with the OVER going 7-0-1 in the previous eight meetings, and the OVER 4-1 in the past five meetings in Raleigh.
Boston has posted 27 victories in the past 40 games overall, but they're 0-4 in the past four as an underdog, 0-5 in the past five playoff games as a 'dog and 0-5 in the past five as a road underdog, as well.
Brad Marchand has been a one-man wrecking crew for the B's in this series, posting four goals and 11 points with 10 penalty minutes and 18 shots on goal in six games. Charlie Coyle and Patrice Bergeron are second on the team in this series, averaging a point-per-game thus far.
Jeremy Swayman took over the reins in the crease after Linus Ullmark was flattened in Game 2. Swayman is 3-1-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .913 SV% in four appearances in this series.
The OVER is 6-0-1 in the past seven games for the B's dating back to the regular-season finale, and 5-0 in the past five on the road, while going 4-1 in the previous five playoff appearances as an underdog.
CAROLINA HURRICANES BETTING ANALYSIS
Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)
- SU: 57-23-8
- ATS: 44-44
- O/U: 42-41-5
The Hurricanes have not only won all three games at home in this series, but they have blown out the Bruins in every outing. However, anything can happen in a Game 7, although it helps to have a raucous crowd spurring a team on.
The mercurial Tony DeAngelo leads the team with eight points through six games in this series, including seven assists. The top goal scorers are Seth Jarvis, Nino Niederreiter, Andrei Svechnikov and Vincent Trocheck, each tied with three goals apiece. It's really been a community effort the Hurricanes, and that list is indicative of the team's depth.
Antti Raanta has posted a 2-2-0 record with a 2.46 GAA and .926 SV% so far in this playoffs, and his five games played is already a career high for postseason appearances. In fact, he had five total playoff appearances previously, appearing in three games for the New York Rangers in 2016, and two games for the Arizona Coyotes in 2020.
The Hurricanes have won nine of the past 12 games overall, while going 40-14 in the past 54 as a home favorite. As mentioned, they're 5-0 in the past five Game 7 appearances in the playoffs, while going 27-9 in the past 36 postseason games overall as a fave. They're also 41-16 in the previous 57 on home ice.
For totals, the OVER is 5-0-1 in six games in this series, while going 12-3-1 in the past 16 overall for Carolina. The OVER is also 5-0 in the past five as a favorite.
BOSTON BRUINS vs. CAROLINA HURRICANES PREDICTIONS
PNC Arena is a wild place to be for the playoffs, and the crowd and team have made it very unwelcoming for the Bruins so far in this series. Carolina has outscored Boston 15-4 across three home playoff victories, and Carolina is 41-16 in the past 57 games overall on home ice.
The Bruins have been playing well - at home. On the road, they have looked like a shell of themselves. However, anything can happen in a Game 7, and you can expect that the B's will play their best road game of the series in this one. Boston has a good record in Game 7 appearances just like Carolina, but most of that success came on home ice. The venue will be the difference, and the advantage goes to the Hurricanes here. Also, the OVER has been the dominant trend for both teams, but look for a lower-scoring game, as these teams dial it down and take fewer chances in a do-or-die game.
