🏒 Betting on the Vancouver Canucks 🏒

Arguably one of the funniest named sports team in professional sports, the Vancouver Canucks have a loyal fanbase. This franchise does not only have fans in the north however, as one of the more well known games in the NHL. History of the Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks are a professional hockey team that competes in the NHL. The team is based out of Vancouver, Canada and competes as a member of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference.

The Canucks joined the NHL in 1970 as an expansion team at the same time as the Buffalo Sabres. The franchise has competed in the Stanley Cup Finals three times, but lost to the New York Islanders in 1982, the New York Rangers in 1994, and the Boston Bruins in 2011. The team has also won the Presidents’ Trophy as the league’s best regular-season record holder in consecutive seasons, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.

As a member of the Smythe Division from 1974 to 1993, the franchise won three division titles. As a member of the Northwest Division they won seven titles from 1998 to 2013. The Vancouver Canucks, along with the Buffalo Sabres, are the oldest teams to have never won a Stanley Cup Championship.

The franchise has had several highly popular and successful players. Some of these include Pavel Bure, Stan Smyl, Markus Naslund, Trevor Linden, Daniel Sedin, and Henrik Sedin.

One of the biggest rivals of the Vancouver Canucks is the Chicago Blackhawks. These two teams faced off in the playoffs three years in a row, thus establishing their rivalry.

A common bet to place on hockey and the NHL is a moneyline bet, which is a bet on which team will be the winner. Here is an example of a moneyline bet:

  • Vancouver Canucks: -145
  • Chicago Blackhawks: +145

This example has the Vancouver Canucks as the favored team to win, with odds of -145. That means for every $1 you hope to win, you need to risk $1.45, to wager $145 to win $100. The other team in this game, the Chicago Blackhawks, has odds of +145. That means for every $1 risked, you could win $1.45, to bet $100 to win $145.
