They have also reached the Stanley Cup Finals twice, in 1998 and 2018, with a win in 2018.
The Capitals have had many notable players, like Rod Langway, Mike Gartner, Larry Murphy, Scott Stevens, Alexander Ovechkin, John Carlson, Nicklas Backstrom, and Braden Holtby.
The Washington Capitals participates in one of the fiercest rivalries not just in hockey, but also in all of professional sports. Their rivals are the Pittsburgh Penguins and have been for the last few decades.
