Which teams have won the world cup?

The most recent winner was France in 2018. They opened as a +550 favorite to win it all. There have been plenty of winners dating back all the way to the beginning in 1930.

Who started the World Cup?

President Jules Rimet. He was a French football administrator from the years 1921 through 1954. The first World Cup was held in the year 1930.

Why did the World Cup stop from 1938 to 1950?

World War 2 was the cause of the stoppage of the World Cup. There were plans to hold the tournament in 1942 and 1946, but both were canceled due to war raging around the world.
