Chelsea vs Everton Preview
Chelsea | Draw | Everton |
11/20 | 3\1 | 5/1 |
Chelsea currently sit just outside the top five, so a win today against Everton is essential if they're to keep up their Champions League aspirations. But it won't be too easy, as Everton have turned into a more resilient side since David Moyes stamped his mark on the club.
Chelsea's European charge has been damaged by their run of just two wins in their last five Premier League games. Everton, on the other hand, have had a mixed bag of results recently, although have been much improved when compared to the early part of the season. The last time the sides met, they played out a 0-0 draw.
Chelsea will be without Wesley Fofana, plus Malo Gusto could join him on the sidelines. But with a semi-final looming, will Maresca opt to field a full-strength starting line-up? Everton will have to do without James Tarkowski for the game, plus Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still sidelined.
Prediction
Everton can't buy a win at Stamford Bridge, having not triumphed in the last 30 games. But don't expect a goal-fest, as Everton have consistently played out low-scoring affairs recently, especially when playing away.
Our Premier League Prediction: Chelsea 1-0 Everton
Newcastle vs Ipswich Preview
Newcastle | Draw | Ipswich |
2/11 | 13/2 | 12/1 |
Newcastle, like Chelsea, are also fighting for Champions League qualification. However, they're in a stronger position, sitting in fifth, two points above the Blues. Ipswich still have a mathematical chance of escaping the drop, but anything other than three points - and other results going their way - will see them relegated.
The Toon were on an incredible run, winning six games on the bounce, but were brought down to earth by Aston Villa last weekend, suffering a humiliating 4-1 beating. Ipswich haven't won in their last three Premier League games. Last time out, Newcastle hammered the Tractor Boys 4-0 at Portman Road.
Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles are still both out for Newcastle, while fellow defender Fabian Schar faces a race to be fit. Ipswich will be without a host of players, including the suspended Leif Davis. Jadon Philogene, Conor Townsend, Wes Burns, Arijanet Muric, Chiedozie Ogbene, Sammie Szmodics, Kalvin Phillips, Omari Hutchinson, and Nathan Broadhead are all injured.
Prediction
This game has a Newcastle win written all over it, and the bookies agree. The Toon have made a habit of knocking in goals recently, although they stumbled against Villa, and fans will be confident of putting a few past Ipswich.
Our Premier League Prediction: Newcastle 3-0 Ipswich
Brighton vs West Ham Preview
Brighton | Draw | West Ham |
13/20 | 16/5 | 15/4 |
Brighton still harbour hopes of European qualification next season, although they're sinking fast, with the club now sitting down in 10th. But at least their season is going better than West Ham's, who sit one place above the relegation zone - although a single point before the end of the season would guarantee their safety.
Neither side has won in their last five Premier League games. Brighton's last match was a disappointing 4-2 loss to Brentford, while West Ham could only draw 1-1 with relegated Southampton. When the sides last met, they played out a 1-1 draw.
Brighton have many players injured, namely Joel Veltman, Tariq Lamptey, Georginio Rutter, Igor Julio, Adam Webster, and Jason Steele. Jan Paul van Hecke is doubtful, while James Milner and Ferdi Kadioglu are close to returning but are unlikely to play. West Ham will be without the injured Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell, and Crysencio Summerville, plus Evan Ferguson is ineligible to face his parent club. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Edson Alvarez are racing to be fit for the game.
Prediction
Both teams have been pretty terrible recently, but Brighton have the most to play for, which should give them an advantage. The bookies have Brighton as clear favourites, but the game could be much closer than they predict.
Our Premier League Prediction: Brighton 2-1 West Ham
Other Premier League Predictions: April 26, 2025
There are also a couple of other Premier League games today. Check out our predictions for them below.
- Southampton vs Fulham: Southampton have been consistently miserable all season, but Fulham's form has taken a downturn recently. Still, the Cottagers should have enough to take the win. Our Premier League Prediction: Southampton 0-2 Fulham
- Wolves vs Leicester: Wolves are safe and Leicester have been relegated, so this match is pretty meaningless for both. With the incredible form Wolves are in, their fans will expect them to stroll to a win. Our Premier League Prediction: Wolves 2-0 Leicester
