Chelsea vs Ipswich Town Preview

Chelsea | Draw | Ipswich Town |
27/100 | 6/1 | 15/2 |
Chelsea come off the back of a convincing European win midweek, but today's match is just as important, as they chase Champions League qualification. For Ipswich, things are vastly different - their fans are already preparing for Championship football next season, unless they mount one of the greatest escapes in Premier League history.
The Blues' 3-0 away win over Legia means they've still only lost once in their past eight games. In contrast, Ipswich have won just once in their last eight. But the last time the sides met, Ipswich shocked the Londoners, taking a 2-0 win.
Marc Guiu and Romeo Lavia are the only Chelsea players out with injury. Despite some concern, Cole Palmer will be fit to play. Ipswich only have one major absence through injury, with Conor Townsend unavailable.
Prediction
Chelsea need three points from this game to keep pace with the pack of teams chasing Champions League football. But Ipswich won't go down without a fight, as there's still a small chance of salvaging their Premier League status. However, Chelsea's bevy of stars should be too strong for the Tractor Boys.
Our Premier League Prediction: Chelsea 3-0 Ipswich Town
Liverpool vs West Ham Preview
Liverpool | Draw | West Ham |
3/10 | 5/1 | 7/1 |
Can Liverpool lose the title from here? A win against the Hammers today would be a huge step towards yet another crown, and they're huge favourites with the bookies to take three points. West Ham, on the other hand, have nothing to play for other than pride.
Liverpool lost their previous Premier League game 3-2 to Fulham, just their second loss of the season. They've also recently lost over two legs to PSG, plus fallen to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final. West Ham haven't won in their last four Premier League games. When the sides last met, Liverpool trounced the East Londoners 5-0.
The Reds have three players out with injury: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, and Tyler Morton. However, Alisson is fit to come back into the starting XI. West Ham will be without Michail Antonio, Crysencio Summerville, and Aaron Cresswell, while there will be a late check on Niclas Fullkrug.
Prediction
Liverpool are by far the better team, plus they'll be looking to bounce back from their Fulham defeat. In addition, they'll be buoyed by news of Mo Salah's new contract. They should make short work of the Hammers.
Our Premier League Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 West Ham
Newcastle vs Manchester United Preview
Newcastle | Draw | Manchester United |
13/20 | 16/5 | 15/4 |
Newcastle have already reached their pinnacle this season when they won the Carabao Cup. However, qualifying for the Champions League would be a close second. For Manchester United, the league is now immaterial - their whole season rests on success in the Europa League.
The Toon have won each of their last three Premier League games, although their opponents haven't been of the highest standard. Everyone knows Manchester United's travails, and they've not won in their last three games in all competitions. When the sides last met, Newcastle triumphed 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Newcastle will need to make a late call on the fitness of Anthony Gordon, while Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, and Lewis Hall are all ruled out. Manchester United will be without several players, namely Lisandro Martinez, Amad Diallo, Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven, Tobias Collyer, and Jonny Evans.
Prediction
Manchester United continue to disappoint, and the form of Andre Onana only adds to the malaise surrounding the club. If Manchester United turn up to play, it could be close. If not, Newcastle could score a simple victory.
Our Premier League Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Manchester United
