EPL Matchday 15 Picks, Predictions, Odds
Andrew Beasley is back for best bets, predictions and picks for Premier League Matchday 15 fixtures that begin on Saturday, November 5th.
Manchester City vs. Fulham
- Date: Saturday, November 5
- Time: 11:00 a.m. ET
- Venue: Etihad Stadium
- Location: Manchester, England
Best Bet: Manchester City to Win to Nil (-110)
When one team is priced at +2200 to win, it’s very difficult to find any value. In this case, you can look at the handicap market, but you have to go to Manchester City -2.75 before you get better odds than simply backing them to win to nil.
Having already beaten the other promoted sides 4-0 and 6-0 at the Etihad, the defending champions could easily beat Fulham by at least three on Saturday. But they may be without Erling Haaland, and with the World Cup only two weeks away, are players going to be going at full pelt if they can get the game won in routine fashion?
City to win without conceding looks a near certainty, them racking up a large score line far less so.
Nottingham Forest vs. Brentford
- Date: Saturday, November 5
- Time: 11:00 a.m. ET
- Venue: The City Ground
- Location: Nottingham, England
Best Bet: Both Teams to Score (-137)
Nottingham Forest sit joint-bottom of the ‘both teams to score’ table entering the weekend, as it has occurred in just four of their 13 matches so far.
However, three of those four games have been at the City Ground, and the quartet of fixtures in question were against Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Everton and Fulham. A group of broadly similar teams to Brentford, in other words.
With neither side keeping that many clean sheets, both teams to score looks to be the logical choice here.
Everton vs. Leicester
- Date: Saturday, November 5
- Time: 1:30 p.m. ET
- Venue: Goodison Park
- Location: Liverpool, England
Best Bet: Draw (+240)
Although Leicester go into the weekend in the relegation zone, their recent improved form means they are within three points of six clubs, one of whom is Everton.
Frank Lampard’s side have the best defensive record outside the top four but only two sides (who are both below the Foxes) have scored fewer goals. It’s little wonder only Brentford and Newcastle have drawn more matches.
Three of the last four meetings of these teams at Goodison Park have finished level and none of the last six have been settled by more than a single goal. Everything points towards this being a draw.
Southampton vs. Newcastle
- Date: Sunday, November 6
- Time: 9:00 a.m. ET
- Venue: St. Mary's Stadium
- Location: Southampton, England
Best Bet: Newcastle to Win and Both Teams to Score (+280)
I made this same prediction last weekend and Newcastle cruised home 4-0 against Aston Villa (all the best, Unai).
However, three of their last four wins against Southampton – all within the last six meetings – saw both teams score. And the Saints, while inconsistent, have generated at least one clear-cut chance in every home game this season, three of which have been against clubs from the Premier League’s big six. They’ve only failed to score once at St Marys in 2022/23 too.
With Newcastle on a roll they should win again, but only after Southampton have also scored.
West Ham United vs. Crystal Palace
- Date: Sunday, November 6
- Time: 9:00 a.m. ET
- Venue: London Stadium
- Location: London, England
Best Bet: West Ham United ML (-106)
West Ham against Crystal Palace is a London derby which has favoured the away team in recent years. Whichever side was at home only won one of the last six at either venue, and just one of five at the London Stadium.
With the Hammers in European action on Thursday, Palace may fancy their chances to continue that trend. But the Eagles’ away record has been dreadful, with no wins and an expected goal defeat every time.
Granted, they’ve already been to Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle, but the underlying numbers make West Ham firm favourites for a victory here.
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Liverpool
- Date: Sunday, November 6
- Time: 11:30 a.m. ET
- Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
- Location: London, England
Best Bet: Tottenham ML (+195)
Tottenham have an abysmal record against Liverpool in recent years. They have won none of the last 10 meetings and only one of the previous 21 clashes.
The bookmakers believe that Jürgen Klopp’s side will prevail once again. Spurs lost their last home league game, against Newcastle, and currently sit bottom of a mini-league of England’s established big six clubs.
But Liverpool have taken just two points from their five away games, and the underlying data implies Tottenham should be favourites. As such, a home win looks a great value selection.
